[Poll] Self Found League - SFL /FINISHED

A) I would vote for a SFL. In a SFL with double the orb drops, people would still try to get to level 100 unlike SC and HC now. Don't be mistaken trade is the easy way out, SFL will be more hardcore than the other leagues. When trading you don't have to play the game or risk anything to progress. The issue is that trade is not for everyone and many don't want it to be part of the game. Nor is trade balanced at all in an RNG environment. RNG can quickly give people an advantage over the economy with certain drops.

What perhaps would be even more fun is a league, where if you trade you get marked and can be killed by other players for the next 20 min (safe from party members just like cutthroat races). That would add a risk to trading, might be interesting.

The self found league would be the most popular one (i am 100% sure in that)

You are right and that is the problem.

Everyone in real life would like to be rich (me included). Your gov could print you indefinite bills and they can. But they wont. Why? Instant economy crash because everyone would stop working because they are rich. That economy crash is comparable to the game becoming boring after a few days/weeks/months name it. Nothing related to trade.

There need to be rules to prevent boredom (In game as much as in real life). And trust me, BoA league would get boring pretty fast. GGG are the money printer hre and they establish the economic rules (not the playerbase). And they don't want boredom to happen, nor they want to divide the playerbase enven more.

Edit: Trolling? I bet I'm good at it.

You know very good when you are trolling, this time at least you said something to what i can replay to.

The thing is this is not about will you be rich. You will still need to farm a lot for best of best items, but the thing is, to progress through the game you will not need to farm as much. Because trading is disabled there is no economy. So they can balance the game and drops around you, as a player, not around a economy.

Also rule to prevent borderom is to make a game where nothing drops and you need to farm like you are playing a korean MMO? xD. Man, that is the thing that will make the game boring in first place xD.

Because of the economy the game is boriiiing. They did not make it more fun for a lot of people as you can see it here.

You want to farm for 1000h, and it is fun for you? Fine, farm, leave us other people that want to be "bored", play in other league and actually kill and get loot from the kills in normal time frame. Shit and people thought d3 drops are bad xD.

Would love SFL! Right now almost impossible to save up to really tinker with white items... a lot of currency is spent on gear upgrades, which is cheaper and 100% guaranteed, unlike crafting.

Go SFL!!!

You are right, you aren't forced to trade. I have done exactly as you said before as well. I've rerolled many times. However, There have been times I found good gear while leveling while others I struggle to even exist.

My first nemesis character went very well drop wise. It set me up for when I rerolled after dying to continue with little hiccups. However, if this marauder's luck had been my first time through on the new league (or as new player in general) I would be highly upset with the game.

I think it should be a smooth play through to merciless self found EVERY time and that just isn't the case. Sometimes the bosses/mobs just drop what you need or enough to keep you going. Other times its like being thirsty in a desert.

I think a self found league would allow them to rebalance for a more guaranteed play through. That's all I want. To reroll and not become upset at the game because no currency is dropping and when I try to trade with others, it's not a shitty experience.

Maybe fixing trades to be smoother and less time consuming would make me feel different, but as is, I hate having to deal with other players and not being able to progress my character gear wise without trading.

There have been nights I log off after not being able to trade with others even though I put in all the effort I can. I make sure its verified, I wait for them to get out of maps, I tell them the name of the item, I tell them an offer when they say "offer". I do everything I can to make the trade experience better and in the end, it is still utter shit.

Well I can tell you from this past reroll, if it wasn't for previous aqquired currency, my marauder trapper wouldn't even exist. He is currently lvl 41 and hasn't found hardly anything. I think I found a GCP at the beginning but 1 GCP is useless since odd number qualities are useless (i.e 1%) and doesn't help with gear.

I'm struggling to keep bear trap leveled because I don't have much currency to buy gear (I have no chaos or higher orbs) to keep my dexterity up. My resists are all crap (cold is negative!). If this guy was self found, I would have already given up and deleted him.

If I find 3 of every currency less than a chaos (because he hasn't found any chaos orbs), and then double it to 6. 5/6 of those will probably be utter shit (as proved by 4 transmutes that only netted me 14 fire resists). Now explain to me how that would be game breaking? Even changing it from 6 to 18 isn't going to make my character some beast mode.

Yes, you are right eventually he will hit a gear wall, no matter how you play. The difference is, I could keep trying to craft if I had currency to craft with. Rares that drop are utter shit, and the few currency I got doesn't result in upgrades to my already shitty gear (Two-Stone ring with +2 life on kill and no other stats). Yes, I am actually wearing that ring.

That's all I want. To feel Like I gained something by the time I logged off. I may not have gotten an upgrade today, but at least I got to try to craft something. I can't even try right now. I don't have any currency but I'm getting to harder content.
I think you are over exagerating. You want to sound like a victim? Be one mate. I raced up to Merciles Vaal in the 1st week of Nemesis and there I spent a single Chaos to get act 3. I never trade before that spot and it's Xth char I rolled. Knowledge is vertue. You are not forced to trade. At all.

You raced to merciless Vaal solo with just the loot your character picked up or crafted and then paid for act 3 ?

You should make a strat guide for us mere mortals ! =P

So what about that idea to make it more hardcore? If you trade you are marked (cutthroat) for like 30 minutes (or longer)? That way you have to put real thought into trading? It does need tuning of cutthroat where people should be separated by level brackets. No fun in a level 80 killing someone at level 10 that just did a trade.

If you don't like the risk you can play self found or not play this league. I do like the idea for there to be a risk to lose that valuable trade after you just made it.

There would to be need for other tweaks as well, like can't drop items and probably no guild stash allowed in such a league. There would be need for an option to get into peoples maps etc. Possibly only could be 1 or 2 months max such a league, with things running out of control and overpowered over time, so the end game bit of the league is achieved faster (focus would be less on leveling to 100).

Just some crazy thoughts ;) I would play it, dunno though if losing characters more frequently is sustainable long fun (hence I estimated a shorter duration for such a league)?

The self founders would get their backsides handed to them through shear power of traded items. That is how PvP works in these games. You trade for OP or die. =)

Why don't all of you nomads just play a normal league, turn off trade chat, and only party with permanent allocation on?

I have to say I'm with him. Tbh I really don't see any point in creating such league.
