" You are right and that is the problem. Everyone in real life would like to be rich (me included). Your gov could print you indefinite bills and they can. But they wont. Why? Instant economy crash because everyone would stop working because they are rich. That economy crash is comparable to the game becoming boring after a few days/weeks/months name it. Nothing related to trade. There need to be rules to prevent boredom (In game as much as in real life). And trust me, BoA league would get boring pretty fast. GGG are the money printer hre and they establish the economic rules (not the playerbase). And they don't want boredom to happen, nor they want to divide the playerbase enven more. Edit: Trolling? I bet I'm good at it. Last edited by PureLaine#3024 on Dec 4, 2013, 3:12:01 PM

" It's not the same as making everyone rich though. If I find 2x more currency, but can't trade, does that make me instantly roll the game? Hell no it won't. Of all the currency I've actually used versus trading, most of it was wasted. Not all of it, I've had a lucky alch or two (in that I sold it for more than I put into it), but sure not some godly item. I would have used it or stashed it if I couldn't have traded it. I think people associate increase drops = insta perfect gear. But go ahead, tell me how many fusings it take to 6 link an Item and then compare it to the number of fusing YOU ACTUALLY PICKED UP OFF THE GROUND. They are not even in the same ballpark. Without trading currency to other players (for currency you need or for gear), you actually wouldn't have much at all to craft High end gear. I've personally found 2 exalts since closed beta and no eternals. Do you honestly believe if I used those exalts I would get a useful stat? In all honesty, those exalts would be about as useful as a divine orb without trading. Practically useless. People need to look at the currency they have actually picked up (not traded) double that amount and see if they could have better gear than if they traded. 99.9% of time, your gear would still be shit. ign: Vixien

Couldn't be more in favor of this. I play ARPGs to kill and loot, not trade. to respond to the post above me, your dead on. Diablo 3 console is a great example of this. Its got crazy high leg drop rates. Yet my monk has 2 pieces of his set after playing him for 200 or so hours. 2 pieces. my offhand is the only "best in slot" item I have. Just because drop rates are higher, doesnt mean you are going to just have everything you need fall in your lap. But because i actually am getting nice items, it just feels so much more rewarding, even if im not using them. In this game, ive yet to even be able to 5link something, let alone 6. The ridiculously low drop rate of fusings drives me crazy. Ive got 2 amazing chest pieces with 5 slots that I cant use because I cant get them linked. Its so stupid that I have to use a POS chest ive had for months because its a 5link. I literally pass it between my characters. Last edited by jalford#3761 on Dec 4, 2013, 3:29:04 PM

" Yes it is EXACTLY the same. You would get STUCK someday AGAIN. Back to zero complaining that you don'T find upgrades again! It's not the instant perfect gear, it's that WALL you are going to come across sooner or later. And the higher the droprates are, the more people will get bored. That is proven in real life by economic science and it applies the same way in an RPG game. Actually that wall is 5 linked sockets, I never used one nor a 6 linked. But I don't care. I do fine with 4 sockets linked. Edit: I lied. YES I care and would like to have all my chars with 6l items. But only that wont keep me happy for long. I try to keep being rational and not complain about it. Because I know about that stuff enough to not complain about it because it is part of life. " I know I said I wouldn't post in this thread again but ... I have the impression that some of these posters/players havn't actually solo self found/crafted at all in POE,ever. You won't have diddly squat orbs left by the time you hit 70.And you most certainly won't have the equipment/gems to make anything but the most generic of builds. It's likely a good portion of your gear will be the same gear you managed to scrounge around the 40s. But I will say,I don't think upping the drop rates on orbs is the answer and believe GGG is on the right track with tweaking the success rates of crafting/gambling. |

Well I can tell you from this past reroll, if it wasn't for previous aqquired currency, my marauder trapper wouldn't even exist. He is currently lvl 41 and hasn't found hardly anything. I think I found a GCP at the beginning but 1 GCP is useless since odd number qualities are useless (i.e 1%) and doesn't help with gear.
I'm struggling to keep bear trap leveled because I don't have much currency to buy gear (I have no chaos or higher orbs) to keep my dexterity up. My resists are all crap (cold is negative!). If this guy was self found, I would have already given up and deleted him. If I find 3 of every currency less than a chaos (because he hasn't found any chaos orbs), and then double it to 6. 5/6 of those will probably be utter shit (as proved by 4 transmutes that only netted me 14 fire resists). Now explain to me how that would be game breaking? Even changing it from 6 to 18 isn't going to make my character some beast mode. Yes, you are right eventually he will hit a gear wall, no matter how you play. The difference is, I could keep trying to craft if I had currency to craft with. Rares that drop are utter shit, and the few currency I got doesn't result in upgrades to my already shitty gear (Two-Stone ring with +2 life on kill and no other stats). Yes, I am actually wearing that ring. That's all I want. To feel Like I gained something by the time I logged off. I may not have gotten an upgrade today, but at least I got to try to craft something. I can't even try right now. I don't have any currency but I'm getting to harder content. ign: Vixien

(it was +1 to SFL, just saying it clear) There are 3 kinds of people in the world: those who can count & those who can't

"I think you are over exagerating. You want to sound like a victim? Be one mate. I raced up to Merciles Vaal in the 1st week of Nemesis and there I spent a single Chaos to get act 3. I never trade before that spot and it's Xth char I rolled. Knowledge is vertue. You are not forced to trade. At all. Last edited by PureLaine#3024 on Dec 4, 2013, 3:53:24 PM
