A self-found purist's feedback [Long]
" Buying your gear = child'splay. Buying progression = child'splay. Out-gearing any challenge before seeing it = child'splay. Faceroll farming trivial content for hours in order to try to access slightly less trivial = child'splay. Killing beasties at challenge level at every point in your progression to actually loot better items =/= child'splay. Casually casual.

" The bolded parts make no fkin sense.. You first claim that players want to be rewarded, and not get everything easily (which I agree) But them claim that trading should be part of the game and also needed to progress. The same trading which makes everything easily obtainable == child's play. LOL! :))) When night falls

" I don't give a damn crap about MFing ( MF doesn't stand for magic finding here obviously ) people using RMT :). " Yeah, 95% of the community has shavronne's/Kaom's/LG/Voltaxic etc .... ( and they are all runnning 75+ maps since it's so easy I guess ) They have it so easy. or not. Of course if you play 10 hours/day, you will get good items/lot of weealth ==> good items and therefore be rewarded, this is just normal ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Nov 20, 2013, 11:25:39 AM

" Who mentioned RMT? " No, I play 16 hours a day, every day, but I don't trade (child'splay). I get in about 500 hours what trading would get in 1 hour. You are NOT rewarded for time investment, you are NOT rewarded for hardcore gameplay, you are NOT rewarded for attempting challenge. You ARE rewarded for circumventing anything and everything in a child'splay manner. Casually casual.

It's the difference between courting a woman vs. paying a woman -.-
Edit: sorry for the strong image, but it's basically the truth. (with probably less satisfaction than both the aforementioned situations) Last edited by skewfields#5600 on Nov 20, 2013, 12:03:38 PM

I mentionned RMT because I was talking about a "normal" case of a "normal" guy, like someone with a "normal" likfe ( not saying yours sucks or anything, just that it can't be taken as an average one ).
" /rofl, srsly, like accumulating wealth is like nothing to buy expensive gear, and like trading doesn't take any time either. Yeaa, time investment is not rewarding .... w/e dude. Too much of bad faith there, really. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" Even if these items are hard to get, they are still easier to get through trading, than through regular gameplay. But forget about top OP items for a sec. Trading makes the game a child's play, because items you might need (mere gems, leveling gear, etc.) are just a few tradechat spam messages away. Therefore trading has nothing to do with rewarding progression, its the opposite - an unrewarding shortcut. But that's not all! GGG went one step further with trading, not only items are hard to get and you must trade for them, but content is innacessible unless you trade. Freaking ridiculous... When night falls

I still fail to see why trading should be an official activity in an arpg (or in any game, for that matters, besides simulations). Talking about trading as something that requires hours and gives birth to 3rd party sites, RMTs, etc., and not simply a bonus between friends.
Let's assume that a lot of the community likes trading (LIKES trading, it's a strong assumption). Would it be the same, were trading not this efficient for getting loot (not in terms of in game system)? Even so, why not give more possibilities with a separate league instead of saying "get out, no chance"? I mean, I will get out, but I will miss out on a good game and you will miss out on a customer. Doesn't really look win/win, more like lose/lose. Last edited by skewfields#5600 on Nov 20, 2013, 12:15:21 PM

" you seem to forget that in order to get something with a trade, you gotta give somethingback, which means you have to accumulate wealth, and for decent gear for end-game ( 70+ maps ), than means quite a lot of wealth <=> time. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Nov 20, 2013, 12:47:41 PM
