New class of item rarity: Mythical
So, how often are you supposed to find these mythical items?
Should they be as rare as unique ones? Or even more rare? |

" I think they should be the "real uniques", I mean, super rare and when you find one you really find something useful and awesome. |

Would be cool to combine a "mythical" weapon with a mythical monster/boss.
I loved the Inner treasure boss idea but to be honest - 9/10 they drop the same unique all over again (read crown of thornes) etc. With a mythical boss spawn, like the uber diablo in d2 you could either try to kill it yourself and risk death or try to invite friends/players and share the loot. The mythical boss would have extra mods and be way more dangerous. The drop would be a guarantee item of the same lvl as the boss. Meaning if you kill him on normal you wont find anything better than a rare normal item with 6 high roll mods. But if you find one in Merciless then you would guaranteed have an item of the same level type as the area (ilevel 50-70). I agree that the mythical items should not be able to be mirrored, and it would be cool if they were somehow personalized by the one identifying them: example: Cosma's Vile touch Serpent Staff. |

Thanks for the feedback. It has and will keep modifying the original post.
Plus, I'm sorry if I shouldn't bump my own thread. :- P Here since Closed Beta. Never found a Mirror. Still love PoE. :- )

I must admit at first I was like why even bother, but then I started picturing items that would be awesome with this. I'm not sure if I want this more than set items, but since I doubt they will be adding set items you've got my support ;)!
As for balance goes, I would actually not mind having a max mythic to like 1 per character. It would be what makes them feel awesome. At least in my head :P "Had they not taken my home with fire, I would not have taken their children." Witch -

this can only work within 2 options.
1. the limitation of 1 "super item" per character to be worn - as already discussed. 2. the item binds to account on pick up. otherwise, this creates some massive problems in the back end of the game with RMT. then it also creates a massive issue with people feeling like these items are necessary and give people too big of an advantage. no one want to play a game where you spend 4 months making some awesome self found character and you scrounge every inch you can to get 12k DPS. then some guy with a credit card finds some RMT site and buys 12 super items and has 300,000k DPS. if there isn't insanely tough restrictions on this that both prohibit Trade and stacking 1 character with nothing but this gear... then I wouldn't support this idea. if done right, it can be a incredible fun addition to know you have a chance at any time to find something insanely rare. when I say rare, I mean... like it drops for 5 people, then never drops again. or limited time chance to drop - like only can drop in October. and none of this BS where they gate gear only for people doing 77 maps. the vast majority of people cant even reach those maps, let alone do them regularly - theres already a extreme elitist feel in this game with maps - making it worse, is a damn good way to push people to other games. |

Kunaak,
I agree the map and (unique) drop system is bad enough as an elitist system as is... Limiting Mythical rarity items to ONE (1) should suffice, but we should pay attention to anything that might make it too elitist. It's horrible enough having to play high-level maps to even have a chance at certain uniques; it's worse yet that it's absurdly hard to get to high level maps AND stay there (map drop rate... Yea...). - - - Hopefully someone at GGG has read the Mythical rarity suggestion here and we can contribute to an even better and more complex game. :- ) Here since Closed Beta. Never found a Mirror. Still love PoE. :- )
