[1.1.0] Spectral Melter (Spectral Throw Crit Shadow )
To answer a few questions.
Ive built this shadow, maybe 4 times now (3time son Nemesis, the perfected version once on Dom). Switching to a shield right around when you start Merc would be fine, or right around maps. Id recommend you use for obvious reasons. And also take the shield defense nodes which are really close to you on the tree. You do not lose too much DPS by dropping 1 dagger, but you gain a LOT of defense. Id also aim for getting a BoR. Again I leveled 4 of these same characters to 75+ without BoR, I got my BoR around lvl 81-83 and it doubled my DS DPS. Invasion - No Sacrifice No Glory

Curious why you choose to avoid the ranger starting area in the new life build? I feel like you can be more efficient with your points by going into it.
Here is what I am planning on running: |

I find the evasion and acrobatics to be useless.
Projectile Dodging to be useless. When you have this , theres really no need. Can get it for less than 1 ex on Domination. The spell dodge is kinda nice, not necessary at all though if you have good res. Ill pick up finesse and the extra shield block nodes to the right of the tree http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYABH4EsQV9BbUF-Q5IEZYV8Ba_GtsbrR4aI_YkPCT9JpUnqSgqKaUs4TBUMgE6WD3iSO5JUUp9TGBOKlVLVupW9Vb6WkhabVuvXMZe-mHiYetirGegbXtwUnBWcsN3_XiuelN9435Zf8aHGYd2h9uIQow2joqQG5Vml9CZV5oTmyado52qoqOjiqZ_pzSnXKsLrGaxs7IZtMW1SLfTuT65fMBRwcXMBs3qz3rXy9h2227b1N0N3vbjhOdU53To1un-6xTtQe4O7_Dz6vyr_MX_kw== So with those 5 extra nodes I have to tkae ill be lvl 91 and my build in terms will be complete. Then ill just pick some more HP nodes or crit multiplier chance whatever. 23k DS Dps in Town 2k ST 4.1k HP MAx Res 56% Chance to block with lvl 91 build, 48 % chnace to block now. 75% dr with granite Invasion - No Sacrifice No Glory HTTP://WWW.TWITCH.TV/THISISDEUX Last edited by Deux#3310 on Dec 26, 2013, 9:27:03 AM

" I do use discipline, as i mentioned in my post ( I dont use grace though, only discipline + hatred) Discharge might be some extra dps but I like to keep my power charges up for max crit chance. 400+ dps daggers have to be mirrored. 300+ pure phy daggers cost 100+ exalts. I got a 330 dps phy+lightning dps dagger for 7 ex but it has only 7% base crit. I'd say get hybrid chest rather than pure ES. I had a pure ES based LS crit shadow long time back nd the lack of armor makes u very squishy. |

Its just my opinion but I believe this build is best done with CI spec and PCoC. Spectral throwers shudn't get hit too much if u are playing correctly, and CI builds will have much higher damage potential and flexibility in terms of map mods.
ES builds are great with only few ES nodes (those after CI, unnatural calm and the nullification cluster) and can run discipline for extra ES, while life builds need a lot more investment into life nodes and have life on all gear pieces (life nodes will eat away the points u cud otherwise put into crit multiplier or block nodes) Pros of CI: - Can reach 5-6k es with only about 10-15 points spent into ES based nodes, while life builds need a lot of inc. life nodes and life-based gear to be effective. ES will mainly come from gear. - No need to fear chaos damage, which is huge obstacle for life based builds - Run blood rage to get upto 10% extra life leech and 15-30% extra attack speed. - Can get vaal pact for insta leech (no need to worry about any form of reflect). - Can spec into block and get an aegis aurora for extra tankiness in higher maps. (I have 6k armor with my spec which will be pretty good for aegis's effect)] - Can use an for extra dmg if needed (though its overkill IMO, with 600% crit multiplier I can 1 shot most regular mobs when I crit) - No need for any form of life leech in gear or life leech gem Cons of CI: - Gear dependent (like all CI builds) - Can't do blood magic maps - Can't use the awesome consecrated ground effect (4% life regen) from gifts from above - Cant go low life with shavronnes and crown of eyes [but if u have those, u wud want to make an entirely different build anyway :)] Links on ST: ST + LMP/GMP + power charge on crit + crit multiplier + faster attacks + physical projectile attack damage(recommended)/added fire damage Physical projectile attack damage is recommended over added fire because: 1. Less mana cost multiplier (120% vs 130%) 2. With hatred u have a lot of cold damage already and added fire along with it will make ele reflect very painful. Auras - Hatred + Discipline (20% reduced mana reservation from passive) should leave u with about 150 free mana which is enough to spam 6L ST (32 mana cost) and 2% mana leech from mind drinker Must use skill - whirling blades + faster attacks (to get out of trouble quickly or move to better angle before throwing) Last edited by nightblade157#6640 on Dec 26, 2013, 1:00:00 PM

Thanks very much for putting this guide together; I am curious as to why you took the passive point in Cruel rather than the 18 percent damage boost. Can you help me understand? Thanks again.

Hello guys im cruious the talent "The one handed critical chance": "Increase critical chance with one handed melee weapons by 40%" increase the critical chance of spectral throw as well?
Also i want to know why Arcing Blows(+30% lightining damage) is taken? Arent the Spectral Throw is pure physical? If you using support gem, does it worth to spend 2 points on Arcing Blows? This is what im planned to do if those 40% critical chances will work with ST. Give feedback please on this a bit changed build! Last edited by Rozari#4664 on Dec 31, 2013, 5:52:44 PM

Okay i found the anwswer: this сrit node and "increase damage with melee weapons" working with Spectral Throw. Official proof from GGG: " Also im wonder - K3V1NBP, why do you pick 8% projectile damage in beginning instead of 12% physical damage increase with one-handed weapons?
