Let me explain to people how easy it is to do a lottery scam.
" So you're a troll. Why even make this thread. " Finally someone gets it. I personally think lotteries should be against the rules. Because there is no guarantee the winner even gets paid, and its not even against the rules to scam someone, and it should be. They should make a lottery fall under "Illegal Activities", you see someone spamming global/trade for a lottery, then report them. Just my 2 cents. " They're just chickenshits who are too scurred to get burned by the RNG, or are scammers looking to pile up stacks of free fusings. I think Chris needs to make a stand and say lotteries are against the TOU. They recently made a stance against cross-league trading which was another avenue for scammers. |

Here is how the cross-league scamming used to work:
Attempt to build trust within the community, make a thread about posting exchanges/rates, and then have a swarm of alt accounts or friends show up and vouch for you saying quick & easy trade, recommend this seller, etc. Doing so will eventually net you some prey who will be glad to fork over their orbs first, because you got so many people vouching for your credibility and all. You fork over the orbs, then the poster is incognito!!! So now you realize you got scammed and are pissed, so you post a comment in their topic calling them a scammer, and don't trade with this player. Then all they gotta do is tell a staff member you're "naming and shaming" then bam all their criticism gets deleted. TRUTH BOMB! I'm glad they don't allow cross-league trading anymore. And I hope they adopt the same policy toward lotteries. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on Oct 20, 2013, 3:14:43 AM

" According to the TOU, outing a particular person for being a scammer regardless if its true or not is "Naming and shaming", and is against the rules. The scammers know that as well and use the TOU as a mechanism to shield themselves from criticism. I don't know who actually decides on their policy, but individual staff members gotta uphold the rules whether they personally agree with them or not. Some random dude on the internet, like me doesn't really give a shit, and will tell you what they really think about it. I'm not calling the staff members villains, I'm just suggesting some of their policy sucks, and needs to be changed. Like I dunno, maybe start putting some heat on the scammers instead of using a dumb rule to shield them from criticisms? Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on Oct 20, 2013, 3:27:11 AM

Lot of ppl stream when they do a lottery, do a lottery to a guy wich not stream and just link the item its really dumb.
But i dont like lottery if you now lot of ppl you can have 6L for cheap... | |
" 6L shavs are selling for upwards of 30ex more than a no-linked one. Which leaves you a massive amount of meat on the bone, if you do a lottery to 6L a shavs, winner gets 10ex, and you flip it for 60-70ex. I don't know of anyone who would actually pay 70ex for a 6L shavs, I know I personally wouldn't even though I got the funds and wouldn't mind having one. IMO 6L is worth 10ex more than a non-linked version tops. If not, then I think ill take my chances with 600 fusings. Here is how these people are doing it, step by step: A: Lowball a shavs for 30ex B: 6S it (not too hard, few ex in jewelers tops) C: Lottery 6L - winner gets 10ex. (assuming he gets paid, probably not though)* D: 40-42ex invested in 6L shavs. E: Sell 6L shavs for 60-70ex. F: Make 20-30ex profit. 30-40ex profit if you do a scam lottery. G: Repeat steps A through F. * If they couldn't do this then this entire method falls apart. And this is what they're mad about.
Spoiler
Some of you think I'm trolling, and I frequently do, but there is nothing but truth bombs being dropped in this topic.
