I dislike the "blame the victim" mentality here

How is it a scam to sell an item for too much? If the buyer agrees to play the price, then its a valid trade.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
We've all been scammed before, whether it was on Diablo 2, Runescape, or whatever. It's happened. When it did happen, it sucked, and if we look back, we know we should've been smarter. We bring that mentality with us, and when we see others get scammed, it looks so obvious. Hindsight is 20/20, they should've seen it coming. Telling people to stop scamming isn't going to help anyone, we just expect people to be smarter about their stuff. The only reason scammers exist is because people keep falling for them. |

I've never fallen for any scam, I'm too careful for that.
My mentality over internet games are, everyone's a scammer, watch your back. EDIT: I just realised this is a massive lie, i was scammed once when i was younger playing vanilla wow and from that moment on ive learn to never trust anyone in online games anymore. " Here's more wisdom. Don't interact with anyone in a video game, unless you know them personally. There comes a time thief when jewels cease to sparkle, gold loses it's luster, throne room becomes a prison, and all that's left is a father's love for his child. - King Osric

If GGG or any other company for that matter had the possibility to actually catch the scammers AND prove that they did it, they would. It is also often hard to make out if the alleged victim is the scammer or not.
Not to mention, who would do this policing? It would eat up a lot of working hours- who is going to pay for this? Would you not rather GGG spend money on improving the game than helping people who can fend for themselves and learn from their mistakes? Yes, there are assholes out there. And yes, it sucks that people fall for their shit, but seriously, what do you think that someone can do about it? Give us a thorough, fool-proof, cheap and effective strategy of combating the scammers and we can start discussing. IGN:
