I dislike the "blame the victim" mentality here
"Its your fault for not taking payment first"
"Its your fault for being greedy" "Its your fault for being stupid" "Its your fault for being naive" "random trollface pic" Nothing else turns me off from playing PoE like this. more gems i've seen; "Lol you got scammed and want to quit? This is natural evolution" *elite jerk* "I deserve to steal for being smart" Last edited by H4xolotl#7857 on Oct 19, 2013, 11:37:31 PM

But it is your fault. 99% of the time if you fail it is your fault. Embrace that attitude and you will be much more successful. Really, blame is a waste of time -- but if you must blame someone, blame yourself.

" I have never been scammed in PoE. The last time i got scammed was when i traded 1 high rune for a magical dusk shroud (fake enigma) 5 years ago This dosen't make PoE's current attitude towards scamming any more acceptable to me. Sure, being scammed is a learning experience, but how about punishing the cheaters instead? Is it fair to blame people for not being cynical, bitter and suspicious? It's not about whether its right or wrong, its about realistic and protecting yourself from it. Most of these players with this attitude have been scammed themselves and are realistic that you have to protect yourself, as strangers won't do that. Maybe people speak in a strong manner to emphasise the point.

" So there is still the possibility of being not your fault. Kinda contradicts your embracement of blaming yourself. Also, I do not find it right that you have embrace that attitude, how would you know if it is actually successful for another individual? Everyone is different. It is also in human nature to blame someone else as well, but I would not support it either. Honestly, it is 50/50, it is your fault or not. If there is more than one person involved, all is blamed or none at all. This is a good learning experience and it should be noted somewhere, be it in paper or mind, to advise yourself to be more careful. Also, the scammer needs to face justice, if he/she ever gets caught.
