Well this is what happened on the Forums over the past couple of days.
While you never question an Operational Decision from the comfort of an Arm Chair.
I think a lesson needs to be learned here, sometimes its better to let these things sort themselves out, instead of trying to micro manage the situation.
And trying to shield an individual from the justice they deserve by gagging and suppressing anyone that speaks out, will never work. Definitely not on the Internet ( ie: reddit on this subject)
The person at the core of this has been put on Probation, and worse than that, thanks to some enduring individuals a large portion of the community knows now what kind of person he is.
His previous behaviour and most of his Character names should have been ringing alarm bells anyway.

It's amazing what you open yourself up to when you take money from any and everybody to achieve your own personal dream. It was also a surprise to see how GGGs mods handled the issue.
Rather than use the opportunity to alert new players to the dangers of dishonest members of the game's community and forewarn them that the little forum badges are not a symbol of community standing but rather an aesthetic simply bought with money, I suppose the directive was to smother the 'bad press' asap.
Human nature is funny, even with pretend money, there will be individuals trying to get the best of gullible folks with good intentions.
