Just about every time I see someone criticise the community, it's because they haven't researched who the community is apparently attacking. Is there any logic to a community converging on someone who's done nothing wrong?

Sure, maybe during the Salem witch trials or McCarthyism. Neither of which apply here.

This is far from the friendliest community but I will say this: you get treated by how you behave. Come in guns blazing and spoiling for a fight, you'll get one. You'll be remembered as a trouble-maker and a troll. That's a given.

Plenty of newcomers who post considerately and thoughtfully *but still criticise the game* are treated with complete respect.

As I said, if you feel the community is somehow 'ganging up' on someone, do yourself a favour and look at that person's post history. I guarantee there's precedent.

And if anyone can find a case where there isn't, where someone has been persecuted or 'attacked' by the community for absolutely no reason, I'll buy that person an Exalted pack here and now.
