GGG: You guys used to be good at communicating. Things seem to have taken a dip as of late

I think I can agree with you. I've been playing for over a year now, and things have taken a dip as of lately. But I think it's only because they're working REALLY hard on making the game full release and working hard on finishing act 3 at the moment, and don't really have much time on their hands.

but how hard is it to dangle a carrot by saying 'we are intending to provide stash open trading on full realease'

or

'endless dungeon mode will be planned on release'

not that hard

Things might not be set in stone as of yet and they don't want to make promises that they can't keep?
See you, Space Cowboy...
if they are already planning it, then IT SHOULD BE SET IN STONE

The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

That's not how game design works.

Did you guys read my spoiler or what

I did <3

I think the thing you were pointing out that others don't get is that GGG set higher standards than this for themselves. It was never supposed to be a "it's free so just shut up and make the most of it" kind of game. It was supposed to be better than that. For the most part, it still is.

@OP, good post. I agree with most of it, except the bit about traps which I think is a little premature. If it turns out they are making a serious buff to traps, then it makes sense to block any exploits first.

I would love to get some proper clarification on the situation with in game advertising.

THE IRONY
Spoiler
- If any other company had done any of the above with zero communication, most players would suck it up and continue because, really, no one expects developers to communicate the way I'm asking you to. And that is because you guys have done such a fantastic job in the past that the above seem like such a big deal. I suppose, the higher the bar you guys set for yourselves, the easier it is to miss that target in the future.

[...]

Exactly my thoughts.
They really do a great job but they did better before and now we are terribly spoiled. :D

GGG has just discovered the horrible truth, that too much information given to their customers can be used against them selves negatively.
Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild.
We got showered with attention, and now everybody turned into wraeclastian slut's.
(silk style AAAAAAAA)

Seriously, beta ends soon, i seriously don't think they WANT to not inform us, but considering there team and the truckload of work they got going for release...

I think we will have a better picture of the state of the game 2/3 months after release. Once things settle down again.

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

agree with origination in that i'm willing to give them a pass on disclosing some release details but there are a few things i thought could have been done better per my post. better disclosure pre-release of reave / razer / traps that should not have been hard.

also, indicating areas that they're reviewing without specifically indicating the solution could be helpful. for example, pre-eternal orb, they indicated that they were looking at ways to prevent crafting from punishing players with poorer stats (eg, from 5L to 2L), without actually saying what the solution was going to be. I think that's something they could look to talking about more often.

agreed. fingers crossed! would have been helpful if they just hinted some of what the traps changes were going to be (particularly to those with no access to diaternal newsletters) to salve the current burn from the nerf. Heh.
