Huge patch, still no desync fix...Really?
Something you all need to notice. Every Gesync thread now gets locked or buried. THEY DO NOT GIVE A SHIT.
They could fix Gesync very simply by removing specific unnecessary game mechanics. They want those unnecessary mechanics in game MORE than they want Gesync out of the game. They have decided they have enough of a player base as things are. For those that don't play because of Gesync that is just fine by them. Since i see Devs reading this thread:
One of the effects of desync is shooting/hitting a mob that isn't actually there. For example when i kite mobs with my LA-ranger or FB-witch, some mobs get shown following me (while i shoot at them) for up to 10seconds when they actually aren't. This can be easily solved by requesting a position update if the player shoots at a mob but no update comes back for that monster in a certain short timeframe. " I kind of wondered this same thing, like when I make 20 reave swings at a mob in less than a second and it takes no damage, why can't it do like an /oos command or something. I mean there has to be a better way of handling the desync, and it seems to be getting worse as more time goes on. |

play spellcaster that uses spells that aim for you. they aim server side, so they alyways hit.
this tells you why sporkers are so powerful. because their paper dps is insane and their skills actually hit shit instead of hitting thin air. LA is so powerful because of that, chain, arc, discharge. all skills that server aims for you. melee on the other hand... but who cares, there are like no melee alpha testers - they somehow missed that reave cancels out after picking up loot. they might have not tested this skill at all it seems. if desync stays in this game - ive heard that d3 expansion is comming. and most of poe players WILL try it out. i play d3 too and it always amazes me how fluid (but dull) d3 is - no desync bullshit. given blizzard track record d3ex will be as fluid but not as dull. are GGG devs willing to bet the outcome? :) |

Desynch also helps at times, people just don't pay attention to that. Ever hit a mob outside your cleave range? Ever use an attack and have its effect happen before the swing physically connects? It does work both ways.
It sucks Desynch is here, but it's also in every other ARPG, and most other games to boot. I'd list my sources, but even after mentioning D2's desynch and the black wall "fix" people still think it's only in this game for some reason. IGN = Dellusions_Duelist

" You seem to confuse skills that attack an area, and skills that always hit. Spark for example is strong because desync can affect it. Not because spells always hit, but because theres sparks everywhere. Accuracy of the skill is a non issue. It doesnt matter if an enemy is 1 foot to left. Further, if you give bli$$ard more money. Thats your business, but I prefer to give my cash to games I like. D3 blows, for so many reasons. Thus, they can fuck off with their exp pack. Oh, as a final note. Even though the game is fluid. You cannot manually dodge attacks last I played. Once the attack animation started, you were hit. An enemy swings a sword, you vault 10 feet over, enemy hits even though you werent there. Its not desync, but funny thing is, you might as well have been. Same result. |

" not dodging manualy in D3 is the ONLY thing people can name while defending sad state of POE desync. truth is - it does not matter during normal gameplay. it is consistent. it always, always behaves the same. it is a game mechanics. after 2 minutes you accept it and move on. some dont like that (i didnt like that too, for like first 4 hours) but.. you can use Charge (something like whirling blades+sheild charge) 20 times in a row and NOTHING will desync at all! try that in POE and type /oos. results are hilarious :) and about first part - i do not confuse anything, read my post again. this time without the assumption that i do not know what im talking about. btw have you tested reave? i really liked the fact youve missed the 'pickup loot, loose charges' thing. it shows A LOT about how much GGG cares about the melee part. they dont give a hoot. |
