The few other games I do play have a native Linux client

Would you share what these are? Could be interesting, just for the case we cant continue with POE when we can't run W7 anymore...

Sure. I do not play much nowadays, but here they are:
Pillars of Eternity
Tyranny
System Shock 2
Tides Of Numenera is also on Linux.
Witcher 3 is an exception.

POE plays well on wine

From whatI've seen so far, it still has major losses in framerate, latency and general GPU load (especially on AMD).
And even more with the latest changes, the gameplay demands on timing and positioning renders instable latency with 150+ average, and framerates around average 30fps close to unplayable but not "well" running.

Have a few linux boxes I'd love to run this on...

That way I wouldn't have to keep switching my secondary computer back to Win 7 when my nephew is in town.

Played on ubuntu for a long time with horrific performance, almost unplayable. re-imaged to kubuntu 17.04 because gnome is garbage (please don't beat me up).. Can't even get it running.

Play it at work on a windows machine though, it would be nice to have a native client for linux.

Because all we need is love.
