Diablo-esque games list....

Nightstone, a poor Diablo clone, but funny and with a very user friendly level editor.

Albion, an old game, not played.

Evil Islands: Curse of the Lost Soul, between an RPG and an ARPG. 2001

Dimensity, an Eastern Europe ARPG.

Rather than Baldur's Gate, I would say Icewind Dale, more action focused.

Planet Alcatraz, a SF ARPG (never played).

Tsukikage no Destiny 月影のデスティニー, a Chinese RPG (translated in Japanese) with a lot of action and splendid character design. Edited by Falcom.

Tôken hôma-roku 刀剣封魔録 : another Chinese ARPG (translated in Japanese) set in Middle Ages China. Old but fun. Edited in 2002 by Kôga-dô studio.

The Japanese free Action RPG site :

You should put all the titles in alphabetical order while it is still feasible.

Just realized that dawn of magic 1/2 is missing!

icewind dale classic... :D
"turn based rpg's are for people who have sausage fingers" -me
Ahhh infinity engine. Loved those games.
Well, original Diablo was classified as another rogue-like, so lets mention

Rogue, Angband, ADOM, NetHack and another less successfull billion of them)

Also not to forget The Elder Scrolls 1-4
I think Oblivion broke the mold on the Elder Scrolls series. I mean the melee combat was great, but in Morrowind it was more of the Diablo click fest.

As for the other titles, thank you very much. I will add them to the list.

Another side note, I will be putting them in alphabetical order, as well as linking them to there reviews/screenshots.

I'd rather put Planet Alcatraz in the SF - other section...

By the way, you put the Chinese characters for one game but not for the other.

I forgot Numen, contest of Heroes.

Nice job till now ! Continue.
I'm having a rough start this morning lol. I still don't see the chinese game I missed.

Anyway, not that it makes a difference, out of all the "Recommend me a Diablo clone" games lists on the internet, I now believe we have the most comprehensive. Call the Guiness world book of records lol.

Should I give the rogue games there own listing? I agree they are the predecessor to the ARPG genre, but may not fit so will into the actual ARPG listing.

You just missed the original name (in Chinese and Japanese characters) of Tsukikage no Destiny 月影のデスティニー

Yes, you should put the Roguelikes in a different category, but there are plenty of roguelikes...
Nice work.
