Anarch economy is already even worse than SC economy

An economy only exists if people can trade.
If people cannot trade their is no economy and the economy can't be broken.
So, I would like GGG to introduce leagues in which it isn't possible tot trade. I would be the first to join such a league.

Another possibility would be to introduce fixed prices for items and currency, based on the quality and rarity of the item and the rarity of the currency. GGG determines the prices. No open economy, but fixed prices. People exchange rather than trade.

This would keep the "traders" away from this game, because there is nothing to gain in that aspect from this game.

My friend bought a Koams Heart on default the other day from D2jsp for forum gold, which he paypal'ed a significant amount of real money for. Unfortunately he won't tell me how much haha.

Will he get banned??? No cause GGG don't really do much :p

Report him and document results. There needs to be way more of this - people getting banned for RMT.

I reported 2 players who used RMT/jsp with evidental proof from this and jsp forum. All they said was "We are investigating".. when i asked them 1 week later what is going to happen, they said "We will keep an eye on them". Pfft. Nothing happened or will happen :)

The reason the economy is fucked is because of YOU (everyone who trades). YOU are the guys who let the chaos : ex get out of control, YOU sold your orbs to RMT sites cos you thought you were getting a good deal, YOU tried to rip everyone off & only accept 'pure' currency for your shitty rares, it is YOU guys that did it, you made your bed...lie in it.

I saw early on that the players & trading in this game was for the birds. I usually love multiplayer but this game has pushed me to play solo self found because a) I find it satisfying but mostly b) this community is retarded, not to mention the trading system is archaic.

So now I sit back & amuse myself at all the people whining that the economy is borked when I know good & well that they are just as well to blame as anyone else. Yeah RMT is out there & yeah it has a horrible effect on the game but you know whats just as bad? The rest of the playerbase, all looking to rip ppl off, buy low sell high, use RMT ratios when it suits them & have zero foresight as to what they are doing to the economy as a result.

Also the CB folks who are all saying "CB was so much better than OB" I disagree, CB seemed like a demo compared to what we have now, the current game shits on CB.
This hasn't got anything to do with players

The game is designed in such a way that its completely economy reliant, and this is why RMT has such a significant impact. If it was a lot more achievable to progress through the game with completely self found gear, than this issue wouldn't really exist

No shit it's the players doing that this happens.
But why blame the inevitable? People throughout history have looked for ways to gain an edge over others through destructive, including self-destructive, means. This is no secret, everybody knows this, well everybody with access to information about human history.

GGG knew this would happen and they let it happen regardless. They have the power to control the economy in any way they see fit but they decided to leave it at the mercy of RMT. There is no excuse for this, being supremely naive is not a reason you should let the obvious happen.

GGG should take control of PoE economy, all they need to do is remove some of the freedoms they've given. Unless of course... They want someone else to keep controlling PoE economy.
a yearly item reset would take away the motivation to spend real money on ingame items. but unfortunately that was definitely ruled out by chris.

You know why people use RMT? to progress.

So of course removing progress will remove rmt (to a certain extent), but it'll most probably also remove the people who play for that exact reason... Progress.

I'm guessing GGG appreciates having more players who use RMT, more than having less players who wouldn't use RMT.
and why wouldn't they? Bigger player pool = more stuff sold.
I find it fucked up how people have decided to set the price at this, seriously, 14 gcp for a currency item that is not going to be used a lot for a while?
Old april 2012 account got stolen
Blah blah economy blah blah blah blah economy blah blah....
Honestly i dont get what the issue is here. You can play without ever trading, its not like trading is a necessity in this game.

It's the communities fault. Not the game. People leave standard with their currency values, go to a new league, and bring those values with them.

The problem is that the botters are snatching up all the exalteds with ridiculous offers of 150-200 alchemy or 150 scouring or 60 chaos. They are offering ratios that normal players simply cannot refuse. Anyone who wants an exalted orb has to either pay a ridiculous amount of orbs or pay cash. For some 30$(or whatever it is) comes a lot easier than the 150+ alchs that the botters pay.

lol? An ARPG without trading? There is a reason for currency being items rather than gold. Also there is no point in farming the docks for hours on end in order to find that one piece you need with the right stats/resists. The chances of finding good items is very slim, and the chance of the item being right for you is like 1 in 100 good items.
