And this is why the economy will never be as good as it was in closed beta. I remember every time the ladder reset, the economy had a full reset as well. 1 Week turbo had a full reset too, none of the values carried over to that race.

Now, everybody carries over values between leagues.

nothing will be good as cb ,
cb had some much more going for it.

normal players could use multiboxing to boost the drops and challenge of the piss easy early difficulty

there were no real botters.

there is no real way to stop the gold farmers , there never will be short of making gold farming a capital offense , which wont happen for obvious reasons.

I honestly feel like i should have just permanently quit this game when closed beta ended, because the game still hasn't even got back up to the level of CB, let alone surpassing it.

Because I thought that I could potentially prevent the downward spiral. I don't like seeing games die, because creating games is also what I do.
Didn't work. I'm legitimately concerned for GGG regarding their expectation of this game's lifespan, and i feel like investing based on a 10 year expectation is going to backfire.

I've stopped actually playing the game (Got to level 77 in a week or two in OB, stopped playing until may. Came back and played for like a week, and then played 2 days of onslaught, and i'm back to not playing again).

Im a little confused.

Is your heartbroken and discontent due to rmt/d2jsp abusers ruining the playing level or the time investment vs reward ratio?

Probably not a bad idea, except you didn't.

Why?

I'm not being rhetorical; I've asked myself the same questions and the answers I found were very important.

We all knew OB would be the death of so many things we loved about PoE during its CB period, but here we are.

Still.

Why?

I feel the same.

We are still convincing (deluding?) ourselves that we can stay and influence it to go in old direction? Because we don't want it to devolve into another fail project bought by EA/SOE/PWE/YouNameIt?

Perhaps we're just that, delusional.

My friend bought a Koams Heart on default the other day from D2jsp for forum gold, which he paypal'ed a significant amount of real money for. Unfortunately he won't tell me how much haha.

Will he get banned??? No cause GGG don't really do much :p

It's still kinda funny watching people blow all kinds of money into pixels. One thing I learned from all this is when my baby gets older, I will be tracking every single expense. Some parents or loved ones (like spouses) need to intervene in this stupidity.

Ruler of wraeclast, lmao that's the most funny one of all :p no offense GGG.

Meanwhile in Africa!!!! ----------->

You'll quickly unlearn that, otherwise you're going to end up with an extremely rebellious child.
Personally I still play as single player, mostly solo found (shared between characters), and only playing things I enjoy.

I use 3rd party shop indexers when i want a specific unique for a build, and never spend more than a gcp on an item cause I don't want to.

I have fun just levelling my character to level 60, sort of 66 now that a3merc has changed. I hate maps with a passion and get bored and stop playing anytime I reach the map levels, and only restart when I decide to have a new build that I think up. Cookie cutter builds like FP got boring in CB when I got a CB FPer to high level, no urge to do so again (all my FP builds kind of got boring about level 30-50 which shows how little I enjoyed the builds, which is ironic cause I LOVED it in CB)

Stop blaming the community.

The game is designed so that you'll build your gear from nothing into godlike. Of course people will look to gain an edge over others through "questionable" means.
This is 100% not just restricted to games, people at sports most certainly don't use steroids or anything to gain an edge over others. And don't tell me that crime doesn't exist.

It's always been an inherent part of us to do so. Trying to change that is like trying to accomplish pure communism.

It's GGG's job to make a game that accommodates for this fact about people.

And what's this nonsense about "oh people bring currency values with them to the new leagues". Why the hell would they not do so.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if drop rates stay the same, currency values will eventually reach the same stage in anarchy as they have in standard.

Think about it this way:
If someone at the very start knew how the standard economy was going to turn out, would that person invest in certain currency? Oh wait, that's exactly how some people managed to amass mountains of wealth, by predicting how the economy would go.
I can't believe this was the very first time in the history of the universe that something has worked the economy this way.

These things are known facts about people and in turn, the economies around the world.

Trying to force a round object through a square hole is stupid and the person taking notes is going to send you to the special class if you continue to do so.

Report him and document results. There needs to be way more of this - people getting banned for RMT.
