Patch+Orb of Fusing chances ...

My first self-made 5 link armour. Had 2 other level 50ish ones that I found, sold one and using one. And I have 3 70+ chars, a 60+ and a couple of 40+. So yeah, the 5 link made me happy. So this is my 3rd only 5 link item. Found a white 6 socket Widowsilk yesterday night, kept it for after the patch, and managed to 5 link it after about 24 fusings and 24x4= 96 armourer scraps. Being too excited, I forgot to armourer it to 20% BEFORE using my alchemy orb on it. After 11 more Chaos thrown on it, pretty satisfied with this armour. |

I waited until after tha patch to try and fuse this to a 5/6L. Spent about 400 fusings with 0 5/6L. I used whetstones on about the first 50 attempts. I guess this is payback for getting 6S with only 11 Jewellers. I look at the positive in 2 ways: a lot more room in my stash and I am mainly waiting for Onslaught anyway. I just wanted to test out some more combinations with 5L Fire trap. |

6linked my glorious plate (rare) that I bought before the patch. Used ~430 fusings and about 500 armourers (tried many tries with 20% and some only with 1-5% quality). Made 6L finally without any quality.
So not much changes for yellow items (what is good). I think for white items its defenitely better now. | |

The problem with it is that it's a one-shot higher chance at more sockets or links. As I see it I'll take my item with 20% and use a fusing on it. If I don't get what I'm after then I have to use Armourer's or Blacksmith's on that item again to get back up to 20% before trying a fusing on it again. So how does that help much? Especially when getting a 6L armor is taking 1000 and more fusings?
Are we going to be getting a higher drop rate on Scrap's and Whetstone's? Without a very high drop rate on these using the 20% as a higher chance to get a 5L or 6L appears worthless. This is a strange and of little to no help change in the 0.11 patch. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

The design would have been better if Fusing removed 5% from quality instead of all of it.

it would be really nice if ggg could just put out some freaking numbers... why does this have to be a secret?!
just say the chance for a 5l/6l quality and non quality are xx% the way it is now just sounds like some scam like: "you are more likely to roll red sockets on a character with allot of strength" "you get more loot if you are able to kill allot of monsters in one blow" "a "itemlevel 70" 66 map tend to hold more valuable modifiers than a "true" lv 66 map" so what is the deal? do you intend do waste our scraps? well if so i can tell i will waste them even if i know the chances. i would however like to know the odds. right now i just throw another coin in the slot machine and now i have the opportunity to rub the damn thing 5 seconds "to increase my chances"...great. |

These numbers are crazy.
"Downgrading" items are not nice, a good option its a item permanently upgrade, with a new fuse/orb u get a new 20% chance to upgrade a item and not 80% to downgrading a item. And when the item have a max number of sockets/links this items cannot be changed or downgrading. Its my opinium. Nice patch. Now Energy Shield works .. lol .. ^^. sry poor English. omg !!! A good trade system its just a normal evolution of human in earth ... but "another people CAN play the old crap cards kinds of "lolsrpg", i dont care .. its the normal evolution. :) by me !!! |

300 Scraps and 80 Fuses after the patch, more than 400 fuses before the patch. |

PSA. You should really only use this technique on whites. It costs a lot less whetstones or scraps.
