It doesn't sound very hardcore to care about a thing like that.

I can only assume that you are against private parties aswell. So lets make a thread asking for blind public parties to be the only way group.

This is such a troll comment

It's only a troll comment in the sense that I knew that you would not be able to answer it.
Private parties have it easier than non-FFA public groups ever will. Infact, FFA loot encourages private parties, so if it's really down to "players who play an easier version of the game ruins my fun" then loot optons would arguably be a good thing even for you.

The reason there are fewer FFA supporters in this thread is likely because they are in Hardcore. Somehow that correlates. Liking FFA usually means liking Hardcore (not always, but still).

I really hate this thread. It's pathetic. Sure, it's necessary but it's definitely not doing any good. Do you really think a mod let alone a dev is going to read this much? Not even I would, and that's saying something. We've already made clear that we're locking all loot system threads except this one -- why do you think that is? It's certainly not because this is the one thread GGG is going to take into account when deciding what to do with the loot system. It's because if we close this, another will just be opened.

All you're doing now is venting and eating each other's tails. Which is fine by us, clearly you all wanted a space in which you could do that.

I've been called in by both Sickness and Vooodu, against each other no less, with unsavoury quotes but no direct links. If you're going to ask a moderator to act on content in a 650+ page thread, do yourselves a favour and link to the issue at hand.

So waste your time why don't you.

But FYI, the reason people who support FFA are against options is because it would allow players who play an easier version of the game to play beside them. At least that's why I'm against it.

And don't say "FFA isn't harder" because if getting loot you claim is yours "stolen" doesn't make the game harder, I don't know what does.

If anything, types of loot should be separated by leagues. Just like perma-death is with Hardcore and Default. Options within a league is not an option, because it's not fair.

1) Why are you still in this thread? You keep saying your done and coming back.

2) You keep throwing Charan's comments up as if it makes a difference. We don't care if you or him think we are wasting our time. If its such a waste of time then why don't you stop posting?

3) The "easier version of the game" is a really dumb argument IMO. As I have said many times before and it keeps being ignored....private games are the easiest way to play the game (without loot competition), yet you people just want to focus on public games like its the only way people coast through the game. Get your head out of the sand.

You will be gone soon when you realize the game isn't going to change to cater to you. I hope you learn something then about taking it upon yourself to choose the games that you find fun better, rather than asking they change for you.

Honestly your aggressive arguing style (I know the truth, I have the facts, no one else matters) is more in line with someone who has to be catered to.

I can't speak for Sickness but I would never leave the game over this issue. That would be dumb.

But wait didn't FFA supporters (maybe you I don't remember) already say that if the game added looting options you would leave? I guess at that point the game no longer caters to you eh?

I really do admire a bit that you keep up with this loot argument. I am now totally convinced that we need loot options.

Most of this thread is just a bunch of noise. I think you should champion a new cause now. Every possible thing that could have been said has been said, and if anyone does have a breakthrough no-one will ever hear it because of the noise in this room.

This subject is so completely over with.
What's wrong with loot options?

They should give us options, so when you create a group, you can set the looting system (FFA, loot timer, your loot only appears for you). And the chosen looting system appears on the public group selection screen, so you can join groups with TL2's looting system only. And if you're playing with friends, you can set the loot to FFA, if you want.

Everyone gets, what they want, everyone plays with the loot system they prefer. I love the split loot system in Torchlight 2, it doesn't make me feel disconnected from other party members, like others say it does, there's no loot drama, it's awesome, so I'd chose that loot system. But with loot options, you can choose FFA, FFA with short timer, long timer, whatever you want!

If so many people defend FFA like you say, why are you all so fearful that everybody would choose instanced loot if options were introduced?

Because most FFA supporters don't want to play with other FFA supporters!

My experience with 'ninja looting' has been worse in 'no ninja' groups than unspecified groups. Presumably because they are targeted as easy pickings.

I suspect that if people who supported FFA were forced to group with each other, they would quickly become anti-FFA loot.

What a crock of shit...lol. The best pub games to play are with other like minded FFA players because no one sits around crying like a baby every 2 seconds if they don't get a drop.

Playing with other soooo called FFA supporters is relaxing because non stop bitch is never present. Its so peaceful.

Anyways, im a so called FFA supporter.. I guess. Honestly, id rather them remove the timer and make it 100% free for all. Just like in Diablo 2.

But the biggest reason i would stop playing "FFA" if the loot system changed, is because it would be pointless.

I would choose the easier option for loot, as would anyone else. Unless of course FFA loot had some sort of huge bonus.

But, LOOT OPTIONS are the dumbest ideas.. Everyone who keeps asking for options has the option to play another game. It has to be one solid, simple SINGLE loot option.

It needs to be either instanced loot or full free for all. No in between, that would just ruin the feel of the game.

And as far as feel goes.. FULL Free for all is the only real answer. For me anyways.

Nah man. FFA would have the quantity bonuses, while if you had instanced you wouldn't get the quanitity bonus when in a group. It would just be your own loot and thats it. That's how you'd balance it. Easy.

It's also a very reasonable answer for the many people who are upset with the current loot system, because then FFA can truly return to FFA without timers.

No ones ignoring your post about "private games are the easiest way to play". Because, lets face it. Its common sense.

You act as if its some sort of huge unfair secret...lol?

I agree its commen sense. However it appears to me to be completely ignored by people who only point at public games as being "too easy". I just don't want anyone acting like the game is all of the sudden super easy JUST BECAUSE you can now play public games without loot competition. Thats already available in private games. This game is EASY, thats all there is too it. Looting options will not change that.

I am also trying really hard to understand a player who enjoys FFA but would willingly choose an instanced or non competitive system because it would be easier for them? I mean wouldn't you still be able to pick up more loot if you enjoy the loot camping stuff? Wouldn't you still have more fun? I don't get it.

I accept that basically everything is just a repeat of old information. I guess I like to repost it for the new people to the thread.
