It saddens me, that you decide to come up with a system that fits melee's and non-laggers, I KNOW that you wrote that the time has been modified to fit ranged and laggers better, but this is far from enough. I don't know what you believe lagg is, but for me these timers are just a joke. why have timers at all when you want a system where you SHOULD (!?) try to fuck someone's loot up as much as you can. this creates a system where "Best computers win" which is like in a longterm pay2win which this game is said to be so much better than.

This explanation of the loot system just feels like an excuse for something.

and actually it pisses me off to see that you want a system where players also fight amongst players, but this doesn't cut it, since when you're in a party, fellowship, and all other words describing a group of players FRIENDLY to eachother, you sholdn't just fuck eachothers characters up, becuase this actually may be the case when an awesome loot drops. As you can tell i'm pretty angry, due to i just lost a legendary where i myself hosted a map (friendly as i was) and before i put the map into the laboratoy i let the members nkow that maps goes to owner and loot to name. still i was ninja looted. ofc you'll say "then don't host maps" and to those who does i just say, right.. which brings me to another subject on why you cannot kick members and be rid of them for good.

In fact stating the party that this a no ninja party it open the door to the griefers.. If you say no ninja someone will ninja for sure... The community is shrinking to its pure crowd... Griefers and fake/fail hardcore wannabes... Soon will be little to non existent mature players

Sad but true

Well, that's how it is in every single game, the hating young teenagers who doesn't give a fuck at all about nothing in this world do as they please while the understanding one's constantly looses the feeling of having fun. i see this in every game. however, this could be solved by just increasing the damn timers a couple of seconds, SECONDS we're seriously talking about seconds here. i don't really get why they pay attention to the "cut-throat loving players" when a PvP already exists, steal or (take the item that has another party members name on it for no reason at all ) as much as you want, the idiot who did nothing on the unique boss get's the best loot while the hard working tank/dps who basically solo'd the boss get's a new mana bottle. no this is just wrong.

Huh? Loot is the single most important thing in an aRPG. Improving your character is the number one goal, and that's done via gear.

...Not its not. Exp is. Exp is the goal loot is the bonus.

Loot is gained by magic finding either alone or with friends with actual MF builds.

EXP is the only goal of public games.

Im not really dabating this point. Im telling you how i see it. This is the reason I understand the loot system and really don't give a rats ass abot loot in public game.

I understand what you say... GGG tries to reinvent the wheel... For the start of gaming loot was the reward, exp is something you get by default cause you kill something......

I mean, it'd be like a bunch of mercenaries picking up everything they see, and then group together, see all the treasures they've got, and share it between them as they please.

This would make each party "closer" (you'd need to actually talk to people to determine who gets what :P ), and it basically solves the "ninja" problem.

But, there really isn't a ninja problem.

Yeah there is.
Just check every thread people complaining about ninjas.

It is if you play solo
Not if you play in a party.
If it was, then why not play solo then?

A party system that makes you want to play solo is not really that good at its job

Mental issues are not my problem. Loot timers are meant for a player to get a chance at a drop. Please point out to me where it says loot timers are allocated loot drops and should not be taken by anyone?

So, like i said Ninjas don't exists... Its a mental issue caused by the loot timer.

Also, pub games are meant to be 'roll on the floor' stomp everything in seconds kind of games...... With strangers.

Pub games are meant for exp and fast killing. Not looting.

Thats why dev MUST

A) do not give to players griefing mechanics

Teenagers found their game as it seems..

Pick a random range of 20 pages in this thread between 300-700. Exclude the frequent posters (Slayer, Striker, SMRD, Me..) Post the total number of players pro FFA and Anti-FFA along with your selected range.

In this game the agreed upon definition of ninja = taking loot that is not allocated to you. Your personal opinions on the mater does not change the agreed upon definition of the behavior.

No, im not gonna play your game. People complaining about loot timers are the minority in my books.

How about you take the total number of people playing the game and match it up with people complaining about ninjas.

I see alot of people who defend FFA loot that never, ever post in this thread.

Also, there is no agreed upon defintion of ninja in this game. Its a term used by the most whiney clueless players that play this game.

This system rewards players that do nothing just waiting for loot to drop, and get as much loot as they can (orbs+blues+rares) while others that did put effort, if they (for some reason) couldn't get to the loot in time, lose it.

Please tell me what's wrong with the suggestion I mentioned instead of just saying "lol there is no problem".
If my suggestion doesn't even hinder you, then why would you oppose it if it helps those with "mental issues"?

lol... Not this lame old song and dance again.

This system rewards the people who stay alive and never die. Loot is not a reward. But il tell you this.. I can kill and loot like walking and chewing bubble gum. Its not rocket science. Stop worrying about what they other guy is doing and do you.

The only thing that should matter in public is staying alive and keeping the ball rolling. NOT LOOT. You grab what you can when you can and never, eeeeeeeeever care about the OTHER GUY GOT. Ever. If you see people mooching and doing nothing kick them or leave.

Also, your suggestion kind of sucks. As if i want rules when playing in public games that can only be decided by the looby leader. SCREW THAT SHIT.

You want rules like that you play with friends.. or alone.

But when i play public games im just there to kill, level and grab what ever i can.

Besides, you can't ninja in this game. Thats my point of the post above.

Your personal opinion is not shared by the majority of the players.

You can repeat your talking points but you are not going to change the fact that the behavior of taking loot that is not allocated to you is called ninja’ing.

If something would truly be allocated to a player, that little name that pops up on items would stay there... and nobody that doesn't have that name would take it, cause it's allocated to that player.

However, the timer isn't played like that, and thus nobody is really "allocated" to pick up anything, and thus there can't really be any "ninjas" since it was never a complete surety that it was 100% undoubtedly yours.

For some reason I can't help but think of this comparison: It's like trying to write your name in the sand on a beach shore. You can try and claim that beach all you want, but the water washes it away seconds later. Sure you can say, but it was there for a second! But did that couple seconds of your name being on it change anything?

The timer simply allows players to have a chance to run in to items in time to make it to the free for all parties, not really to claim things, just to have time to get there and have a slightly increased shot at it.

Why are you not playing solo then?
Remember, you play in a party when you play like that.
I thought that was supposed to, like, stand up for something; instead of it being a bunch of strangers doing unrelated things not giving a shit about each other, "stealing" each other's loot, etc.

Again, why not play solo instead?
Just for the exp boost? Then go and beg the devs for the "/player x" thing, hope they put it in the game, and play solo using it instead.

So you join someone else's party, and don't expect rules or anything?
Again, play solo.

"public games" and "public games".
The thing we're after is the feeling that you get when the item with your name on it is successfully looted, not the made-up meta's you describe.

I'll give you my reason why i play this game, i like to shredd creatures while improving my gear. therefore, i lay more time on what loot dropped, than running onto the next mob pack. and this is what we're discussing here. you're obv not interested in hearing what others are saying here, so why are you even here?

Did i expand your mind even the slightest?
