I came here from Diablo 3!!! [Please post here if you did as well!]
" Agreed. A couple threads down from this one is a prime example. Wow. At any rate, it's no big deal. Happens to every game out there. Currently I see a large amount of positive and constructive posts and am enjoying it! | |
Well I played D3 and it left me wanting so *raises hand*

IM one of those DIABLO fans that NEVER would have thought I would quit D3 after such a short time. Sadly the game died for me when blizzard put in AH and RMAH and forced me to do endless hours of grinding to get gold for new AH gear, becaurse the droprate of good endgame gear is SO bad.
PoE is So much more what i expected D3 to be. On top of that i have to applaud the guys from New Zealand on some very different but 100% working ways to make a hack/slash game so good and smooth. Im really impressed and cant wait for the release of PoE |

someone on D3 forums wrote that D3 was like finding a bag and openening it and seeing poop inside then you look up and realize the room is covered from floor to ceiling with these bags. i'm currently on leave from their forums for making a post that 'wasn't constructive enough'. corporate fascism is an ugly thing.

There was a pivotal moment for me in D3. I had never intended to buy items in any game before. However, I was immensely frustrated with the rate at which I was acquiring upgrades irrespective of obscene farming hours (read: never found a damn thing).
I took one look at the RMAH to see what kinds of prices I'd need to pay. I found a half-decent Stormshield for $30 USD. I began to rationalize purchasing it. Saying "it will help me enjoy the game and progress through it", and "I just need an upgrade or two to make it to the next act, where I will finally be able to farm for upgrades". Then I snapped out of it. Why would I spend money to progress in a game? I understand that if the game is free, but after $60 the game should make way for progression within a decent amount of time and energy. Obviously, the game was designed to make it ever apparent that just a little more money can get you to the next tier or act and that you will almost never find that item yourself. So, instead of the $30 Stormshield? $20 pre-order of TL2 and bought the beta key. This game is brilliant, the currency system is constantly undergoing balance to ensure that there is an inherent currency sync that doesn't punish players (how about that!), and the developers COMMUNICATE with players. Money well spent. People justified their RMAH purchases as like an "expansion pack" to the game they bought just a month or two ago. When, in reality, the real expansion pack will obviate all the gear and progression they have paid for in favour of new item tiers, level caps, or progression systems. Nah, if I'm spending my money on pixels, I'll spend them on pixels that reward me for my investment. Last edited by ravexildow#0536 on Jul 19, 2012, 3:24:29 PM

" Yes! The points you gain will roll over to the release :D If you decide to use any during the beta phases or if you support at a kiwi-level, you keep the items purchased with your points and your pet. |
