I came here from Diablo 3!!! [Please post here if you did as well!]
I also came from D3.
D3 is at most 7/10. It's not a bad game, it's simply not a finished product. It lacks in so many areas that I care about the most (itemization and build diversity) that I have no desire to play once finishing inferno. I believe that D3 is based around the existence of botters. I believe they knew botters would flood the AH with items, so they built a game that revolves around that key factor. I am not saying Blizzard supports botters, but that they decided to embrace them instead of fight them. I also believe the drop quality revolves around what's in the AH. |

AFter being dissapointed by the sc2 campaign, which was targeted to 14 year olds, while the starcraft 1 players are in their 25+ i guess,i started researching whether i would go into diablo 3 or not. After following its beta and seeing how it resembled torchlight 1 it was clear to me that it would be a bad purchase...
And the final blow was when i saw diablo looking like a female.......................................... I would have bought it in order to expirence the campaign, but was so dissapointed by sc1 that i was like HOW ABOUT NO so i guess ill be shuting up and giving my money to GGG Is Paypal for europe up>? |

" My thoughts exactly after having quit D3 mid-July. It is not a bad game, it gave me ~150 hours of (albeit diminishing) fun. But it's not a particularly good game either, for me it is on par with the first Torchlight. Maybe I'll get back to it if they ever do a significant overhaul of some of the mechanics. EDIT: For the record, PoE has up to now given me about 150 hours of pure enjoyment... and still counting! D3, what a disaster. I spent over 120 hours playing that game, and yet, with 2 level 60's in act II inferno, it didn't matter how much I MF'd a day, or gold farmed, it always seemed like I was getting nowhere.
With POE, every day I log on and play, I feel like I am advancing towards something, and I Usually get some kind of good drop from my day's work. On top of that, there's finally an ARPG with a summoner. Thank the exiles Over in NZ, you lads, are top notch. IGN: LetsMakeBiscuits

Diablo 3 has a really enjoyable fluid combat system and is based on great lore with awesome cinematics.
Those are also the only points that I consider to be LESS in PoE. PoE has way more: atmosphere, customization, freedom, progression. Both games are fun in my (casual) opinion but I'd prefer PoE. Usually the more fluid combat of D3 would've won me over instantly, but it's missing something. I didn't get addicted to D3 like I'm starting to become with PoE... GGG you're doing something right! A hardcore focussed indie game that also pleases semi-casuals such as myself? That's good sh*t right there! |

I am so guilty it is disgusting. I did not enjoy the replayability of Diablo III, but this game is amazing in comparison (not just for that reason). I love everything I have seen so far, even with some bugs. I fully support this game and was happy to "donate" some cash. The $60 they rob from you for Diablo III was terrible, luckily, mine was a gift.
