You're posting quite prolifically lately, Sickness. I'm curious how you're juggling that and playing the game you're so eager to defend on another game's board. Care to share? :)

Sure. I just checked the servers. They seem to be up.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

One month of farming per act, at least?! Are you kidding me?
Thanks for that statement, that clarified for me that we will never see eye to eye on the matter of what constitutes "acceptable farming" in a game *shudder*.

This really bothers me. Players wanted Inferno to last months. So Blizzard designed Inferno to last months. Now players are complaining it takes months to complete Inferno.

Also, PoE's grind will probably be much, much longer.

I doubt it, and I think that's a completely different kind of "lasting months."

That's what I got too. Either that was the joke, or else this is irony at its very finest.

D3 saddens me...Its fun to play, but not in the way I want to play. I saw PoE on a whim on a site referencing it looked cool...and this website is really something...I have high hopes for this game and hope it will be a nice replacement for what I wish diablo 3 was...I didn't want to play a wow-mod :) r.i.p. blizzard north, sierra on-line and square

Qudos to the topic creator.

That was exactly what I was talking about all along! He did a much better job then me summing it all up comprehensively. False advertising is what Blizzard is doing!

I saw all those videos before and when I played D3, it was NOTHING like that!

I never wanted Inferno to last months. And least of all if it involves item gating.

Can you really see yourself running through Act I for one month? No randomization, spacing away all convos, redoing the same shap in the same environment again and again and again and again just to hop to the next tier (Act II) and do it all over again?

I'm sorry, but my long term motivation in both Diablo and Diablo II/LoD came from something entirely different.

If trading in D2 was not possible then I am sure the drop rates would have been different, or they would have been retarded.

So all you have is an assumption, based on another assumption (that D2 was designed around multiplay exclusively).

Not very convincing to me.

It's funny when you say that on the PoE forums.

I don't understand that, please elaborate why this is funny to you. PoE offers far more than D3 in terms of long term motivation to me. Just to name a few things:
Instead of one character per class, I can build dozens.
It features real, potentially interesting, uniques in all levels with interesting properties not found anywhere else in the game world. I can even build character around unique items I found!
It has a hell of a lot more randomization (enabling me to explore, which is completely absent in D3) in most of its areas, which makes revisiting areas much less painful and more of a new experience.
