JUST GOT MY DIABLO 3 DIGITAL COPY REFUND!

Truth to be told, OP, I don't think that if you played to level 60, etc. etc., you deserve a refund. :\ But it's weird that you got yours and them dudes in South Korea have their refunds denied, so they'll sue Blizzard or something.
Games were better when devs didn't listen to player feedback.

I didn't buy Diablo III. I refused to play it after I played the beta, saw the server issues and the fact that the game is not what I want it to be.

The OP has played long enough to justify the $60 (or $80 if they live in the EU), and it's not that they consider the game broken, because he played until the damn level 60.

I stopped reading there because you are telling me I don't deserve a refund when you haven't even purchased the game.

Just kidding, I read a little more...

You go on to say "if you played to level 60, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc." care to elaborate on that? Oh wait, you didn't even buy the game. Want me to elaborate on that for you?

There is the game in a nutshell. That is not worth $60, the game starts at Inferno. I didn't pay $60 for a shitty story and a ridiculously easy Normal play-through followed by Nightmare and Hell which are basically Normal play-throughs with absolutely no noticeable difference and all of this is completed in less than 7-8 hours.

When you compare Diablo 3's list of bullshit (which is listed throughout this thread) to PoE (free to play) and TL2 ($20) the $60 is not even remotely justified.

I feel like some people are not reading past...

Exactly. The game begins at level 60. And that video sums up all there is to it at level 60.

The funniest part of that video is that the adults don't seem at all concerned with telling the kid what's going on. But maybe that's not actually funny at all. I'm so conflicted.

Edit: Well ... that guy did tell him a couple times, didn't he? So okay, LOL.

Back in black
I hit the sack
I've been too long I'm glad to be back
I have to agree with what Charan said earlier in this topic. As someone that completely doubted D3 would be the game many had claimed it was going to be, I went in purchasing it with low expectations. Surprisingly, the game is still lasting me and I feel it has been deserving of my $60 purchase despite all the doubts and "doom saying" I've been doing for the past couple of months. It is... a very good game. The combat in particular is very satisfactory and makes me feel that my moves have weight behind them.

But disappointments? Oh yeah, there are a lot of them. But I knew there would be. It doesn't take a sip from the fountain of clairvoyance to scout out the disappointments that were going to come from this. The "trillions of builds" fable in particular is what many people were seduced by and something I knew would never live up to what was said. You have, realistically, a handful of differing builds. Where the "trillion" comes from is that if you have a different skill here, or a different runestone here, or a different passive there, you in pedantic tongue have a different build. My Frenzy attack may stun an enemy, yours may heal you. They're "different" but we're still using Frenzy. The builds aren't exactly diverse and in many ways restricts you to roles. You'll never see melee casters for example because the game doesn't operate that way.

As for Inferno? Oh, it's hard. It's the difficulty I absolutely loathe though. It's the, "I give you a dirty look, you kill me in a second" difficulty. I play a Barbarian and I cannot tell you how discouraging it has become to play one. Normal, Nightmare, Hell allows for a lot of fun and flexibility in what skills I can use, but Inferno restricts me to be only one "core" build which is defensive with a shield. It is infuriating but mercifully the developers are going to be changing this next patch so that more builds can be viable and that the damage does not seem as "bursty" as it is now.

But many of the decisions they made, I actually... like. I like that the game is begging to be explored rather than farming bosses. I like that the itemization is more in tune with Diablo 1 than LOD. I like that gold has some purpose now.

And while unique items should be powerful to an extent, it is better that they're more focused on a combination of items rather than a set few. There's little point in having a loot-based game if 97% of the loot is invalid because the unique items are far and wide above everything else. D2 became all about runewords which put an end game on a game that is supposed to deceive the player to keep playing since there is always something better out there.

Honestly, I think some people bought the game and loved it, some skeptics bought the game and ended up liking it or disliking it, and some people were set on hating it regardless.

If it were the same as D2, a number of people would complain that Blizzard weren't innovative.

If it differs from D2, those same people would do as they do now.

D3 is a great action RPG to me and while it won't satisfy everybody, some of the complaints on other forums and official forums are just... well... uneducated. As Charan said, there is a certain ignorance there. Whether that is for convenience so they have a platform to rant from, or that they truly did no research beforehands.

What I'm interested in, is seeing the next patch and how they plan to address the issues as is. If they make Inferno more bearable, I have little doubt many will say that they further casualized the game.

It is a no win situation when you have a game with so much hype behind it.
