Prophecy Removal in 3.17.0

Oh noes Corona Solaris, Wall of Bramble, and Atziri's Mirror!
this forum is only to let players know what GGG is "going" to do. no matter if you like it or not. your opinions really don't matter. look when they nerfed harvest. the announcement came out and in a short amount of time, thousands of posts poured in with disapproval and it still got nerfed to the ground. GGG "thinks" they know what players want. all they do is listen to the .1% cry when casual players start getting good endgame gear and nerf it to the ground. when that same .1% cries about a nerf, they make changes.

normal, casual players simply do not matter as Chris had mentioned that they never expect most new players to ever get out of white maps and they are making the game reflect exactly that.

new players show up, buy a couple stash tabs, play for a while, have trouble with progression mostly due to the piss poor and toxic trade system and complicated builds. casual players have a real life and can't play poe like a job. GGG wants people to dedicate every waking hour to playing. then, new players leave. but not before GGG gets some of their money. now, multiply that by however many new players come and go = profit for GGG.

let's not forget the login queue bypass that streamers got not long ago till it was noticed in one of the streams and the casual players had to wait while streamers and special players got a head start.

all GGG cares about... money, money, and more money.
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead

You are doing the same mistake as the one you did when you decide to remove the menagerie! Then realized it was a bad decision and brought it back!

I used the silver coins all the time!

The prophecies are not meant to be a main component of the gameplay they are one of the flairs that shapes the game. If the game is a dish, the prophecies are one of its many spices that enrich the flavors of the dish and make it stand out among other similar dishes - the other ARPGs!

The prophecies provided extra challenges for the newer players, and even if you manage to twink them a little they could still provide extra challenges for the experienced players - I read somewhere in the notes, that in PoE2 every map will have at least one unique mob, well with the prophecies you can make them 2, even more as the prophecies are random, and the game and not the player can determine when a prophecy is going to pop up on the screen, so they can end up fighting 2 even 3 unique mobs at the same time, and that is an extra challenge for the players don't you think?

If you remove the prophecies you may as well remove the "notes" that are scattered all across the game, and serve no gameplay purpose whatsoever, all they do is tell some irrelevant lore about the game world and that's it, OR you may remove the little cupcakes that you put on the trays in some of the zones or any of all the myriads of little details here and there as the players can't interact with them in any way and they also serve no gameplay purpose apart from providing slightly better visuals to those who are willing to notice them!

Please don't make your game less tasty and blander with such changes!

Absolutely agree with this. Outright removing Navali and prophecies takes an integral flair and flavor out of the game. Terrible decision IMO.

3.13 Was the best league ever!
3.18 Rest in peace my beloved recombinators, I'm gonna miss you...
Some of the uniques as people saying should stay, The Effigon fe.
There is Twice Enchanted, Tempests for quant etc. maybe other way to get those effects?
Overall saying bye to Navali is a step in the right direction, it's just about the way to do that without hurting anybody and not deleting good content from the game.
Cheers!
This is actually a good future update for the game since some players ignore prophecy or use prophecy coins if they feel using it. That aside tainted currency inclusion to future update is more appealing to me, though scourged map drop.
Game has been getting too cluttered with stuff like prophecy, perandus etc etc over the years. It is very confusing to newer players and feels clunkly/requires extra clicks for the rest. Removing some is very good for the game.

thats all folks. But I write so maybe at least one fanboy will wake up: GGG is no longer a friend of gaming, its just another moloch company. Instead of making something better and making prophecy better they just cut it out based on some attention statistics or whatever.
Also good job removing build enabling uniques at random and leaving in bad ones.
Just why?
Hmmmmm yes the floor here is made out of floor
Kind of strange how after barely an hour of this "amazing update" showed when you opened PoE yesterday, that it was taken down and replaced by an MTX sale announcement so quickly. Call it backlash but you should really take it as free Market Research: THE CUSTOMER HATES THIS AND IT TOOK UNDER AN HOUR TO FIGURE THIS OUT. Be like a smart company and use this free market research and customer feedback constructively, like any profitable company would.

We know why it was taken down from the public eye so quickly - the response was overwhelmingly negative. Please listen to your customers. You clearly saw this was a disaster of an idea/announcement, pulling it down so quickly indicates you had no idea of the level of backlash that was incoming. Get in touch with your players and game, please! Just cause 1 turd in the forums hates Prophecies and someone at GGG thinks certain Uniques are boring doesn't speak for the millions of customers you serve.

Take out the worthless stuff like Tormented Spirits and Talismans, not this mechanic that almost every player makes use of. If you think certain uniques just "aren't interesting" anymore, how about making them interesting or just putting the upgrades into the game and removing the prophecy step? How about updating prophecies that were dated and leaving everything else? I found it very strange that the announcement made no mention of the wildly popular prophecies you're taking away for no good reason.

The player feedback is absolutely deafening: 1. The items you deemed uncool were actually being used and quite a bit. 2. We use prophecies for MANY more aspects of the game than Fated Uniques and you've made zero mention of the removal of these key mechanics that make the game more interesting and give it more depth, more possibility. No mention of what would happen to any prophecies aside from Fated Uniques was made, just that you would delete everyone's Navali related items in a short time.

And, last but ABSOLUTELY NOT LEAST; you are removing the games' black character. A powerful black woman. Really guys? How about you buff her instead and actually work with the prophecies that someone (not the community) deemed uninteresting or whatever. Socially, you guys are taking 10 steps backward while other gaming companies are raising up and celebrating their black characters. Get a clue.

Pity, Stop looking for racism where there is none!
