Any advice on what do in light of the Shaper's Touch nerf?

It used to give the following:

1) 2 mana / 4 str
2) 2% ES / 10 str

Now it gives HALF for both of those.

1) 1 mana / 4 str
2) 1% ES / 10 str

This feels like a pretty big bit of chunking for a use of 3 skill points + amulet/gloves. Is it still worth it?

Thanks for the inclusions, but in the interest of not leading anyone astray - I am a real amateur at this game. So anyone who follows my build is likely to come across unoptimized decisions. :)

One note on the 2H - I don't actually intend to go that route long term, just have not invested in 6Ling my chest yet.

you can probably find rare gloves that are better, but the Shaper's Touch still give accuracy based on Intelligence, which is the highest attribute with this build. So that's still very good, despite the nerfs to other stats. Currently, with 730 INT, they give me +17% hit chance.

Nice so far. This worked surprisingly well for Endless Delerium to at least get me to 50: started with stormblast mine->absolution with phys to lightning(pretty awesome), converted at about 500 or so ES when you can actually deal decent damage. As a leveling unique, thief's torment is nice if you can afford it or find it. Links by level 50 with about 1k ES were lightning pen, spectral helix, added lightning and elemental damage with attacks. One of the things I did find kind off odd was that EO never procced for me ever, I'd think with 12% crit chance, it should at least go off once.

Also understood what was meant about other skills: tried smite/static strike, definitely worse.

OMG I'm sorry for not answering sooner. Haven't checked this thread for a while.

Interesting feedback about levelling with Absolution, ty.

I must admit I'm a bit disappointed by the dmg scaling of E-Blade. You don't get that much power for the investment required in ES. I was expecting better when I saw this Jedi skill.
Also, it would require a very good strike skill, something like Cleave, but actually clearing well and dealing high dmg ^^
Choosing Spectral Helix was a stop-gap measure, but I don't think a proj skill fits the theme very well. I mean, a Jedi can throw his lightsaber, but he is supposed to primarily cut his enemies in melee style !

If they could tweak the numbers for E-Blade just a little bit, a true melee Hiero would be cool.

here are some news for the build.

In 3.16, I have used Spectral Helix as main skill, but I wanted to test a melee skill that feels more like you're wielding a lightsaber. This is the idea of the build, after all. I have played a bit with Cleave, knowing it has received some buff in 3.17.
The AoE is actually decent and the clear can be ok. With Pulverise and Close Combat, you can be efficient against packs. With 2 Ancestral Warchiefs on a 4L, you can quickly clear the screen.

But the scaling of damage with Energy Blade remains very insufficient. I have 12k+ ES, which get cut to 6k, and I barely get 1M DPS.

I have tested a Chainbreaker setup with a Lethal Pride/Akoya timeless jewel. Now, all your skills cost 10 Rage and your mana regen instead applies to Rage. The Hiero has access to lot of mana, and I have added 2 Mindfulness cluster notables : 2* 80% inc mana regen while stationary.
But I still run out of Rage frequently, even more so when I use Berserk, and then I can't use any skill. It feels too clunky.
So I have reverted to the Corrupted Soul setup to maximize the ES.

Atm, it doesn't feel rewarding to invest into E-Blade, but the ancient and ill-fated Cleave skill has some potential (probably more with a Duelist).

For years, I have struggled with a homemade Lightning Tendrils Trickster which truly lacked DPS. But they've buffed self-cast in 3.17 and Lightning Tendrils feels good to play.
I feel E-Blade is in the same situation where it could be great if they buffed the numbers.

Been trying Consecrated Path Totems -Archnemesis- League with Energy Blade Hierophant. I play on SSF and I feel quite tanky with this build.
On pure Single Target [Bosses] I switch out Consecrated Path & Earthbreaker Support to --> Ancestral Protector + Multistrike.
My build so far has just over 2.5 mil. (Vaal Ancestral Warchief adds ~180k DPS + the 2.4 Mil from Ancestral Protector)

That's a good solution ! You are the Master and the totems are the Padawans :D
You are quite tanky indeed. Using Wave of Conviction with Mines is clever.


Two questions :
- Didn't you forget to take Infused Flesh notable ?
- How is it possible that the minion nodes (Spiritual Aid etc.) increase your totems dmg ? I thought that Totems were not considered minions.
[Ok, forget this question : increases to minions dmg also affect you, hence they affect your totems.]
