Have we fallen so far in the arpg ranks that we are cheering for a trading card drop (which really just means sell for exalts), in lieu of decent actual loot?

PoE's loot situation, and I've been saying it for the better part of a year +, when I'm allowed ;), is HORRIFIC.

In general my attitude went from concern, to angry, to sheer dismay, to now, 100% complete apathy.

I dont care what happens to PoE anymore. My time and money will go elsewhere, happily. I will keep tabs, and enjoy the drama/forum game, but overall my sentiments on GGG is "Meh" and a genreal state of head shaking.

Well considering it’s a trade-based economy game…yes. The excitement from any item that drops should correlate directly with the value of that item within the game’s economy. So for me, I get excited around exalt-level or higher. I think I’m terms of alts mainly because the primary meta-crafting fees are two exalted orbs a piece. Other people may have a threshold higher or lower than this. The most excitement I get is finishing a high-end craft with all good mods worth 20+ exalts. The highest value item I’ve ever seen drop I believe is an Awakened multiple projectiles support gem, which still isn’t quite on the same level as finishing one of those crafts.

POE encourages singe player because of it's pacing, group games are a joke.

Where's the rush where you get to one-shot gear with no effort and your journey ends because of random one-shots from enemies because they had to make it so unpredictable due to exponential power creep.

These two points I have some agreement with. The gap between builds is so huge at the end. I think there's too many multiplier effects. I'm glad they tuned down the multiplier effects on damage supports, and I think there's room to flatten things out even more, but ggg is probably afraid to do that. Chris said recently that the nerfs created room for more powercreep but that just sounds like he's trying to win back the players who hate nerfs.

A lot of people post about the top end meta of D3 but I only scratched thr surface of that. Even back then I found it unenjoyable to go on boss rushes where people were killing the boss in the blink of an eye, then rinse/repeat. Some people liked that, I didn't. Thankfully even today in poe, you can find players doing off-meta stuff and there's room in the middle to have a slower pace. You just gotta network and find people who play at the same pace as you. It takes trial and error in open parties and slowly adding people to your network that you enjoy playing with.

I still love POE but imagine a game 2 decades old still holding strong against it?

it doesnt hold strong against it, its absolute shit compared to poe. hf running around with you inventory full of charms so you can only pick up one item spamming silly little 1 use flasks you have to then go and get a bunch more of from the vendor while you spam farm some boss on sleep mode with a build youve played a million times because there is 0 endgame, virtually no content, probably 1% of the builds poe offers, all hoping to get an item in order to do what? theres nothing to do...

it doesnt hold up, it doesnt even remotely begin to hold up. rose tinted glasses, its a crap game by modern standards, it doesnt even hold up to games like grim dawn.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
