Watched Llama D2 resurected beta stream and, I know know why GGG wants a slower game

I kinda feel what they really want to nearly all to stay in the acts and/or leave early. If this, the mission is close to accomplished. Only few things need to do to finish it. But its alrdy aight.

All Chris talks perfectly matches low acts playstyle: slow, being glad to rare items drop, being able to react. Perfectly fits on Twilight Strand Hillock fight.

You get the picture.

I understand that you enjoy the league...

It has nothing to do with that, but this endless hyperboling, over and over again - instead of giving proper feedback - is getting tiresome.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

back when I played Diablo2 the original back in 2003 or whatever, you couldn't really mawn the lawn in the rpg game and a "slower" progression made it have more of a quality instead of quantity and made those extreme "loot drops" really memorable. As I've stopped playing POE for over a year now I realised POE is pretty much mowing the lawn, and there is no immersion it always felt like a job, you never had that thing when you kill some key boss you stop for 5-6 minutes to eat some pizza and talk it over with your friends, it never quite feels you done something, it's always to the next thing. Let's be real, when you really finish something in POE, the league is pretty much done for you and that is usually week2-week3. I understand now why GGG wants to slow things down, it's the playerbase that has used to mawing the lawn in the last couple of years that is the issue... I wonder will it work ok for them.

Yeah but the game still has to be fun, and it's not. In D2 you didn't get cheap one shot like you do in poe. Also, you completed all content already. There were difficulty MODES, but at least you got to see ALL content.
Yea I don't remember ever being one shot except for exploding Bone Fetishes or violently chased down by 500% movespeed mobs except maybe small groups of frenzied bloodlords in Diablo 2. It was a slower game, but the enemy's mechanics were also 300x slower, including being able to dodge projectiles which is nearly impossible in POE against many ranged enemies. Mowing the lawn is what makes POE fun.

Haha, yeah those fetishes were nasty. Oh and corpse explosion could get you too ! In D2 at least you knew what killed you. POE is going the way of removing skills to players and giving them to the mobs ! And people still want it to be more difficult? WOW !
I played d2 for years and it was faster than POE, literally teleporting through maps and walls on every character that is viable speed farmer build.

d2 is all about speed farming with MF
Baal runs, boss runs. Have you ever seen a Baal Run the guy teleports through a map in seconds and then drops tp lol

nobody plays d2 for slower game play... you play to build runes and gear for fast farming. I don't know where people get the idea that action rpg is slow game play it's not like dark souls, etc. action RPG was all about action and leveling/gear aspect of a RPG fast gameplay slaying tons of monsters and bosses to get cool gear. Fast paced action.

You didn't get cheap one shots? Laughs in fire enchanted explosion
Let's be honest here. Nobody did Chaos Sanctuary 8 ways for years on end or Baal runs years on end.

Some people dabbled in D2 on and off during season launch like they do with PoE. The big difference is and was PvP.

PvP is why people played D2 for a decade or longer.

Also I'd suggest D2 was more rewarding than PoE. Every PoE league for me ends 2-3 weeks in about when I reach 85-90 where the upgrades slow to a crawl and I never have the currency to do what I want. So I stop playing until the next league. Every time.

That doesn't happen with D2 and it won't with D2R. The end game will be PvP. Count on it.

It's been tiresome years ago, now it's a sad, sad joke that this is coming from adults of all people.
