Why people so hurt over this expansion
The expansion is pretty good but they went too far on some nerfs on first iteration and the nerfing is not homegenous.
The game is pretty great tho, but as a casual(I play really not a lot since league start, like maybe less than 1h a day average), I picked the meta build and it works pretty well for what I put into it, I mean I have a setup atlas for what I want to farm and I can do the bosses, what else. In the other hand, I think that the high end of 3.15 is insane for minmaxers and people that can go in parties. Everything is pretty cheap this league(1.1c awakened sextants) and honestly it is easier juicing stuffs to oblivion as well. I don't know how you tackle all that without self curse but if I had the time and energy I'd be definitely thrilled to tackle that challenge. Last edited by galuf#4435 on Aug 11, 2021, 7:17:42 PM

" I've been looking for a concise explanation of what happened, thanks. Started the league late myself for once. We'll see how it plays out. Last edited by bㄴaㄷkㅁut#3983 on Aug 11, 2021, 7:24:13 PM

I guess people who are hurt , already struggled past leagues and now in the current game state , simply find impossible to achieve their goals .

Let's say you're struggling to get strong enough to kill an end game boss like Shaper or Maven and Someone walks up to you with a steel nerf hammer and then slams it as hard as they can into your face.
That shit's painful, yo. [Removed by Support] Last edited by Kane_GGG#0000 on Aug 11, 2021, 9:40:59 PM

This is really dumb.
If people don't like the game, they stop playing. If enough people stop playing, GGG revenues fall until changes are made. "It's fine that it takes more time for the same reward!" I don't know about you, but most of us have a day job and can't sink infinite amounts of valuable time into a video game. |

Responding to the title of this post alone, didn't even read the response because I get the gist of it.
People aren't so much hurt by it (some might be), but I think most people are more disappointed. For example, I can only really use myself as an example: Ritual league for me was by far and a long shot the best version of this game I've played. Not because of Ritual, which was a pretty decent starter mechanic, it was because of the changes to Harvest and the Discord community built around it. And of course you had Maven to build up to beating. So I mean it covered all the bases you need to cover within a league. 1.) How is the start of the league? Not bad and Ritual was very rewarding early on to help get some quick easy currency. 2.) How is the midgame and progression? Really solid, you could start working on items to craft and mapping still felt good (post-flask nerfs and so on) 3.) How is the endgame? Incredible, so now that I have gone through the early and mid game, I feel properly rewarded. I have a fun challenging new Boss to defeat, and an actual way of crafting gear that I can use in my own builds. I have to agree with whoever mentioned before me in this Post about the smart car designers. It's like once the model of success has been established, you don't scrap it just because it goes away from your original aims or goals. Most people consider this a "happy mistake." As in, oops we didn't mean for the thing to turn out that way, but o wait, it seems to be incredibly well received and working better than we thought.. guess we'll keep it, why 'fix" what's not broken? |

Also, just wanted to add real quick, it's a very scary feeling when something you absolutely loved in the game, the designers now call a mistake... that does not sit well with most people..

" I mean yeah but crafting now sucks so bad we may as wall not have it I never liked crafting with fossils (infact the only time i ever do this is if i get them from something other then delves) There is no progress at all with the currency crafting system Synth crafting isnt really a thing since you get them on shit bases 99% of the time and even if you did get them on a base you like the other stats are 99% likely junk and even the craft you get may be bad What ever crafting is there? who is actually slamming exs on gear to craft? you know how many ex has dropped for me this league? 2 or 3 so you cant really afford to use currency like this anyways Most of the gear we pick up from the ground is just to basically get our char rolling so it dont really matter if its bad as long as we got max res then i guess people just buy their gear Sometimes you do find gear upgrades from drops but at lategame this is really hard and most are not upgrades... your just swaping one stat for another Crafting with the branch i guess is fine for what it is but it doesnt give top tier mods so thats basically just swaping stats till you find gear with that stat already on it Cant they come up with something else? i already had the idea of stat orbs... but anything like that will end up the same as harvest and harvest was not 'easy' to craft gear... the only perfect thing i made that league was a pair of boots and it took all league to make the gear i did make and only one thing was right (chest was right but the mods were not top tiers) Someone said chris wants drops to mean something but they still do not because getting the right stats for the build your using with other gear your using is not something that happens a lot and when it does its likely not an upgrade or on the wrong base |

I played POE 4500 hours and bought support packs every league I like, but this league is worst because I can't find fun while playing this league, that's the problem making most real players quit POE.
GGG took away the fun of playing POE, the player numbers will keep going down. |

POE is best described as "Straw that broke the camel's back".
Say it started last year. It's been wee things from horrible performance updates to delaying the league at Christmas because of Cyberpunk. Then the tiny nerfs over time to underused skills. Even nerfs to builds people really like playing every league. Last night was a really good podcast but didn't really address anything as the changes Chris talked about are far off. Or just written on a whiteboard in the office. People forget 3.16 is still two and a half months away. By then a lot of newer players will be off playing other games in their free time. If a lot of skills don't get a rework to a massive buff to make them playable in 3.16. The game will still be in the same place as it now. |
