As for the whole "stash tabs as pay2win" brewhahah going on. Where I think they are drawing the line is this. The time sink they have developed for the game inventory-wise is taking the items from the instance to the stash. Because you can easily make a new account as many times as you want then you already have the ability to have infinite stash tabs.

As for the people saying "yeah but having them in one spot makes it easier therefore pay2win" you are wrong only because there is no limit to the amount of stash tabs you can get, if you wanted more tabs and couldn't buy them you would just make a new account. If it becomes an economy issue GGG can just lower the chance to get an orb for the rare recipes, thus disincentivizing the whole buying stash tabs for a single recipe.

Extra stash tabs become more and more necessary, the more characters you need to support, as well. I like to stack higher-level gear "for laters." =^[.]^=

It's mentioned at least twice on the "Pre-Purchase" page. (Look under the "Kiwi Pack" and then in the "Notes".

Talking about extra stash. One could always make a new account during open beta where creating accounts is free :p

The devs prefer that players maintain one, unique account, rather than several, because it is an important metric for their business model. Why force people into creating mule accounts, when that would be counterproductive?

As it is, tabs are cheap, convenient, and may have increased utility ((labeled/color coded/what have you) later on.

Springing 10 bucks for 3 tabs is easier and more convenient than creating a mule account and trying to transfer between two accounts.
