I think its because he was swinging a huge 2 handed weapon with one hand. Which looked obscure with his tiny frame.

It looks cool in idle but when he actually attacked it looked rather silly.

but the tiny frame can spit Fire / Thunder / Ice out his xxx and thats ok?

While we're at it, can we please do something about his horrible posture? Hunchback does not equal sneaky.
Just played a staff shadow (TheDancingMonk) to about 50 in the one month - thought I'd look in at this and go "Eh, people complain about everything"....

I agree with the unanimous opinion of this thread; the old position looks cooler, and is plenty believable (they're staves, not bastard swords). It would be lovely if we could get the old animations back in 2.0.

Why change the for stuff GGG. I really want the old one back.
If they wont even fix his ridiculous posture, then what makes you think this will change?

Intelligent, dexterous people don't shove their hips out like Prof. Farnsworth!

Mellowed out the pose for the town idle little while ago.

I made him hold the staff backwards in the town idle, the reason we changed the stance is beacuse the old pose caused some significant issues. Because of the way he held the staff backward it required more time to bring it forward to get into specific poses for skills. The way the tech is at the moment the contacts (the metadata that triggers effects, damage etc) in the animations needs to be within a few frames of each other for balance reasons. The same thing applied in getting the staff back to the idle pose which would of caused huge snaps and make it look like the staff was spinning around especially in the higher levels of the game. So it was thought that by making the stance the same as the other characters was a necessary evil at the expense of personality. As far as microtransactions go i don't think we have the tech to swap out animations and can't speculate when this might be possible.

The new pose in your example looks a ton better.

If you guys make that change happen, I'll consider re-doing my build with the Shadow. :)
