Lol, I don't even know what to say to that.

Well how would you explain it? If they refuse to do anything, even a partial restoration, then what does that say about them?
Op sorry you don't understand, but it is your fault. No one else. This argument that "you guys will be hack too" is very ignorant, plus heard it a million times on other game forums. Why would a hacker go after you instead of a high level player with tons of orbs? The answer is easy. You have been hack or gave out you password and now to embarrassed to admit it.

why should GGG do anything about it? They didn't get hacked you did. It is not their fault it is yours.
Is minic a gheibhean beal oscailt diog dunta!

When a company says they will not restore lost items for any reason. Then stick to that, that doesnt make them a bad customer service company. I can "hack" my account from my friends house report it as hacked get everything back free then still have all the original items. Ya that sounds like a good economic fix.

Stop being an idiot.

Well then since you're so smart answer this?
How did you determine your email is secure if your account was compromised?
By that token did you deem your poe account to be secure as well? Or did you somehow determine it wasn't beforehand because I find it ironic you think your email is secure due to the safeguards in place for this exact reason.
You want to try and say GGGs flawed security is a result of this? Give me a single logical explanation as to why someone would target a 1-33 account full of garbage if they could use their proxies to brute high level players? Same investment in time and resource since your email and passwords were supposedly secure .

I change my email password every 30 days. I used a token from my email to log in to find my items gone. It was their database that was hacked. Not my email. Do not pretend to know how I got hacked. No one here has proof who's fault it is. All I know is this is the first time I've ever had a hacked account and I am just a normal guy, not doing anything crazy. I work full time, cant level up much, not sure why they target my lvl 33 guy, but they did. That and this community full of kids? Yeah, maybe I'm just getting to old for games. I'm 25.

You have to understand: The reason so many people here are sceptical of your story is because if anyone attempts to log into your account from a different IP, it will lock your account and not let them on it. The only way for a hacker to access your account at that point is to check your email and use the access code there to unlock it, OR to log in on the same IP as you do.

So.. if you were really hacked, they must have also hacked your email (not GGG's fault) or they must have logged in on the same IP as you do.

That's why so many people here think something about your story doesn't add up.

I understand. You have to understand: GGG did not create a perfect log in. Diablo 3 did the same thing and look what happened. People still get hacked. The least a player support can do is reset the character and delete those items that the hacker has. I can verify any information needed. They cannot.

Nope, I don't map hack. I got hacked. You didn't even read my post.

I read your post though and if got hacked last weekend unsure how they by passed the logging in from different ip address. Oh I thought so poor Internet security. The problem with today's youth is none of you are willing to accept the responsibilities for your own actions, it's always someone else's fault. Nope sorry man been playing games online most of my life and never been hacked so it's really hard to believe posts like this. You did something that compromised your own security, no rollback

Well the protection works for the town your ip is from so it could've been someone from the same town as he lives in.

There is no way for someone to have gotten hold of your password other than you giving it away or there being software on your computer giving it away. Even if someone was able to hack into the server, he wouldn't get any passwords since they're all stored encrypted. Unless he figured out the encryption key... It's extremely unlikely that someone would go to such effort to get into anything other than a very rich account.

Regardless, GGG's policy on this is clear. No item will be restored (the one instance they restored was in a case of a compromised account that was caused by a GGG employee's mistake).
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!
People who are against him don't realize how bad this game is with support and security.

People are always like "you can only get hacked if you use some kind of cheat or something" until it happens to themself.

It's not impossible buckos
Dude. all i have to say is. re format.

You honestly hav e nobody to blame but yourself.

I personally have quite a nasty keylogger sicced on my at the moment. Silly internet, must have clicked on someting i wasnt supposed too... anyway my path details are still there. this bugger is hacking my hotmail account...blocking the virus emails n redirecting my to false virus removal software.
Smoother than Smooth.

This would undermine any confidence in trading in-game. Even if they had the capability to delete the stolen items (they probably do) think about what that would do to the trade community in-game?

If I trade for an exalted orb, and then a day later it disappears because it had been a stolen item, do you think I'm going to continue to participate in the economy and do more trades?

GGG has very good reasons for the "no-restoration" policy. It's not because they don't care, or that they are lazy, or that they just want you to suffer. They have the policy to keep the economy and trading activity from being destroyed.
