getting hacked + no support = done playing.
" " This is the important thing here folks. The OP got hacked and now wants to leave because GGG will not support him even with a partial restoration. That is the problem here. |

look at all this support.
so if we change the thread title: Getting hacked + Support = playing No = done, they both cancel each other out. Keep on fighting the good fight! Back to some PoE! |

This has happened to me once on Steam, and it was MY fault. Clicked on what I thought was a friend's link to a free copy of Borderlands, entered my steam info on what looked like steam's main page, and bam, kicked off the client and suddenly password changed. I managed to get the account back since I had purchased some hard copies of the games registered to the accounts and saved the boxes. Either way, bottom line, it was MY fault for clicking on something I shouldn't have and entering in my login info.
You did the same or you downloaded a program (Hax) that did it for you. I'm sorry it happened, but you have to be true to yourself. The whole "I got hacked" ruined the D3 economy (if it wasn't already ruined by horrible game play and gold farmers spamming that is) |

so long as your email address is guessable they will be able to hack you... imo open a gmail account and use the gmail guidelines to make your user name.
ie. if your email is bob@gmail.com you can sign up here with the emailadress bob+2359823532@gmail.com and messages will still get to bob@gmail.com and the perps will have no clue that your user is not bob@gmail.com... ever since i started doing this i have not been hacked in any game ever, and i do everything possible to get viruses and keyloggers... afterall the internet is made for pron! |

" That would still hurt the economy and diminish trading. Do you think I'm going to trade for something very valuable if I'm even a little bit concerned that I might have to later contact support, wait for a response, explain the situation and then finally get back the item I traded away? No, I would trade a lot less often. No one is going to want to have to submit a support ticket everytime an exalted orb they traded for disappears. GGG also doesn't really have the manpower to handle these kinds of support tickets. Lastly, what if I use the exalted orb before it was even discovered that it was a stolen/duped item? Do they do a rollback on that one specific item that I used the exalted orb on? Do they just delete that item and suddenly I lose my best rare? It's not nearly as simple as you seem to think.
