Please remove/repurpose the XP gain penalty

It's simple. Each NPC awards a certain amount of XP based on it's level. You kill it, you gain the XP. If the NPC level is lower than your character's level, the XP gain is naturally less significant because the XP requirements for character levels increases. If the NPC level is higher than your character's level, the XP gain is naturally huge, which makes sense because you're taking a huge risk.

If you have a low level character in a party with a high level character in a high level area, there is already a system in place that distributes XP according to player level so you can't progress any faster than you would in an area closer to your character's level.

So why is it necessary to include a massive ten ton wrecking ball on XP gained from killing NPCs that are only +/- 9 levels or less from your current character level? This destroys the XP you deserve from killing higher level NPCs and it makes hanging back and leveling up your character safely, like before facing a boss, so painfully slow and boring as to not be worth the time.

Apply an XP gain penalty instead of XP loss on death. For example, you get a 50% XP gain penalty for 10% of your current character level. And, if you die again before the penalty wears off, it extends the penalty another 10% of the current level or to the end of it.

Are you wanting the carriers to help out in the game or the removal of the death mechanic? Not sure which you meant.

Idk what you mean by 'carriers' but it's not that nor the XP loss from death.

There is a separate penalty to your XP gain when you kill mobs that are more than a few levels above or below your character level. You can read about it here: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Experience#Experience_penalties

...are we all supposed to hit level 100 in the first day of the league, then?

...it was quotes. from the forum. lolz!
The currency item/XP penalty for being far outside the level range of an area.

You do understand the reasons why this exists, right?

- Prevents "power-levelling" by preventing characters from gaining XP while in areas far above their own level. Remove it and suddenly we'll get levelling services where newly made characters are taken into high-level zones and reach high levels incredibly quickly from leeching the XP the other, much stronger player earns.

- Prevents "bottom-feeding" ie. attempts to dramatically overlevel content simply by repeating incredibly easy content a rediculous amount of times. Not only would doing this cause gameplay to become excruciatingly dull, we would also start to see bots start to appear which do nothing but run predictable easy areas again and again.

It's worth noting that the penalty only applies up to level 68. Once you reach that point, the game always considers you to be level 68 no matter how far ahead of the enemy-level you are, meaning you won't be penalized currency or XP from that point forward, as long as you don't go to areas with enemy levels lower than that.
Atm with current exp system doesnt matter if you kill higher lvl mob or lower. All what really counts is if it ±8 lvl more than yours or not. Thats all.

Ah, and some uniq maps and locations what gives exp boost, like Poorjoys, ZanaUP, Upgraded Breachstones, BH, etc..

What I meant was simply that higher level characters could "boost" other people further in the game while getting an xp boost themselves as well. Could lead to exponential XP for all people in a party. I don't want that level disparity to go away. In fact I'd like to see some visual indicators of it instead of mousing over. Like a pop-up letting you know before joining the party or zone.
No.

I remember you, you're the guy who wanted to buff blade vortex. Why am I not surprised?
