There are also other considerations regarding what should be considered 'punishing' enough. Naturally a lowly SSF player doesn't have enough prestige compared to HC circles to dictate whether it is punishment enough or not but, still let me bring it forth: my laggy PC disconnects here and there. Now, I've played a standard SSF character since last christmas. That's right, last christmas. A week ago I got my first vinktar square map by using the unique vendor recipe. To me it is 'punishing' enough that I hesitate to run the map altogether, since I fear losing portals to a random disconnect.

You can say I'm doing it wrong and my PC is sh*t and all those things. But it is my point of view, I'm not forcing it upon all the others. Due to those limitations, however, I certainly am not fond of excessive XP punishments on top of that. It begs the question why the hell we are offered a SC option on starting screen, if the rules are bound to change at level 95+. It's such BS to hear lectures about character build or lack of patience -this week I finally found a second wildfire gem to finally enable my other molten strike character. I've been grinding for uniques for months. So talking about 'rushing to 100' is so far off the truth it makes me want to punch someone into face. It doesn't even remotely describe how I think about the game as a whole. Oh, and however slowly I DO make my progress, I'm pretty sure I am not doing it in waiting a punishment that takes any of that progression away. I generally speaking do not play video games to get punished for it.

Sorry for fuming, it's my bad. On the other hand, I believe an honest account on emotional stance sometimes clarifies issues like these.

Sorry, robmafia. I made a decision long ago not to go into 'discussion' with you, knowing my temperament and your general way of leading a conversation. There is enough sh*t fest going on as it is on the internet. No point.

to me it always sounds like youre just sitting here on the forums
let me see your characters and how you build them
so i would know how much better your defenses are

youre just pointing out stuff just to blame them for reasons ...

To be fair the rules don't change past level 95. But they might as well have. Level 95+ is where GGG last hit the nerf hammer for XP gains iirc. It's also consistently where they hit the nerf hammer for XP gains. So while everyone gets to level 85-90 faster, they get to level 100 slower. This is exacerbated by the fact that each level increases the death penalty. Which basically means, it's a lot worse to die level 95+ than anywhere else.

there's like up to 20 things.

for starters, you don't even use a basalt/granite flask. you have no phys mitigation at all, you don't use fortify, you don't have very good resistances, you have 0 block, your dodge is only 40/30 (and that cut your eva, since it's solely via acrobatics keystones), you don't use flasks to boost your res.

you think that hp = defense... and it's only 5k hp, at that.

yeah, you're going to die. a lot.

your build is 100% based on fire damage from close range (chin sol and point blank). and you have no defense. again, you're going to die.

but if i have to play every single build on defenses then the game has a problem in its balances ...

come on show me your builds :) you seem have alot of knowledge about poe so show me what you got

the problem is all core players like you build defenses around dps
lol i dont want to spend 5000 hours grinding for gear which is good for me
and i dont want to spend time with trading 1 alch and 1 chaos just so i can effort to alch my maps and or buy new gear ...
tbh i was very lucky this league but it doesnt change the fact that
dying and getting a death penalty of 10% isnt fun ...

or do you think deaht penalty is fun? it wants you to play more right?
