Pros and Cons - Death Penalty
" i doubleposted it by mistake when i said "you want to give me some ideas with 10khp and 10k dps??" you literally missed the fact that this was meant as irony like i would want tips from someone who doesnt even play a ranger ... "There are Penalties in the Game, no one's complaining about them"

...then you backpedaled right back to:
- refuses to use defenses - complains about dying lolz @ defenses being exclusive to... not rangers. " ...25 minutes apart? " 174% inc life, yet only 5k max hp. Nice armour mod on your life flask, that'll really help you since you have 89 armour! Resis are barely capped, yet you have no flask for curse immunity??? wat No Enfeeble/TC, no Vaal Grace, no armour flasks... And you DARE say you're not playing a glass cannon? On top of all that, your damage doesn't look like it qualifies as a 'cannon', so you're more likely to be playing a glass pistol. In short, your build sucks. Time to look in the mirror instead of blaming the game. |

I expect people who are against the death penalty will start making their profiles private very soon.

" Maybe. I personally put it on private because every Tom, Dick and Harry can see your stuff if you don't. Which is fine if you're advertising a stream or something, but otherwise is unimportant to people at large (I don't need to be part of someones database for league playing distribution, GGG already has access to their internal databases). People want to know what I'm playing? Level 98 chieftain with incinerate totems. Reasonably good gear (but not mirror worthy) that I've posted elsewhere and if someone wants to know, I can show them. Passive tree? Sorry, make your own, I change mine almost at random trying to inch out more performance, but since it's a totem build, thats not exactly easy. In any case, whether you're for or against the death penalty, it doesn't matter what you have. Glass cannons are more likely to complain about it (since they're playing risky), but slower builds like mine will complain about it too. I'm not saying the death penalty should go, but I wouldn't be against a reduction since the path to level 100 is extremely slow already. And what kills me do you ask? Overconfidence is the biggest killer probably. I miss stuff sometimes that I should have seen. Which means walking into shit I should have dodged. Occasionally I have a lag death or two as well -- not very common mind you since trash mobs don't usually one shot, but it happens. On the note of lag deaths, when I feel the lag, I usually just stop playing, because it's like playing with fire. |

I think there is no point in discussing this again and again.
on the one hand we have uber nerds who play like 10 hours a day and have a lot of knowledge about builds, setups, items and so on. on the other hand we have casuals who play like max 1 or 2 hours a day or like 5 hours a week and dont know all the details or are just following some random build from several patches ago. the uber nerds will never understand that casuals are not gonna invest 10 hours daily into this game, just to roflstomp delve depth 400 and grind lvl 100. and the casuals will never understand why the nerds are so hellbent on keeping everything just the way it is. this game teaches you nothing. you have to go look for the answers yourself, which requires even more work. I am somewhere in between all of this. I am definitely an uber casual in this game, but I still like the idea of a death penalty, though I am pretty sure 5% loss would easily be enough. I would even go as low as 2% to stop people from zerging their way through hard content. or maybe it could scale somehow. from lvl 90 onwards 5%, from 95 onwards 3% or whatever.
