POE sure seems to be losing a lot of steam
GGG needs to get on the ball and:
1) Fix desync - Seriously it needs to be fixed ASAP 2) Fix trading. Forum and trade chat based trading is ridiculous. I refused to use d2jsp and I refuse to use forums to find items and wait for the seller to accept a bid and get online. 3) Accept they made a mistake with their loot rules and let game makers choose from a set of choices, including FFA with no timer, FFA with variable timers like 3sec, 10sec, 20sec, and possibly individual loot. Chris needs to make an executive decision and address this NOW. 4) Some reward system to give players a chance at getting store points by playing. Nothing major, but a F2P system like LOTRO uses actually promotes having players keep playing and buying points to add to the ones they earned in game. 5) Drastically improve low level combat and art. It looks and plays like crap and only serves to lose players expecting AAA quality gameplay and art. 6) Better incentives for running races. For me races are the only mode I enjoy anymore. But I can only play them from certain times and so many days I can't even run one because of their times. GGG definitely shouldn't be advertising this game in its current state. It is only suitable to a small subset of the ARPG market in its present state. Last edited by FrodoFraggins#7603 on Mar 2, 2013, 2:32:16 PM

hmm, about the only things i agree with you on is desync and the loot situation, and i don't agree with your suggestions for loot as presented.
really, this is the best game launch, and one of the best games, that i've had the pleasure of playing in the last decade. i see GGG having a wonderful and bright future. <3 GGG. <3 GGG.

Global and trade chat are definitely slow as hell compared to the initial influx of players on OB release. Makes me really wish GGG had of left the Chats alone, as now, theres really no need it seems for the fucked up chat system that was implemented.
Anyways, agreed, theres def not as many players now as was. GGG - Why you no?

" 1: They've addressed this too many times to mention. 2: Yes 3: Am I the only person who missed getting angry over losing a drop in Diablo 2 and bragging when I did get it? 4: Lord of the Rings Online has quest packs that unlock more content in game, making it partly pay to win, so I see this as pointless in Path of Exile where store points do nothing but give more stash space. 5: Sure but I can't see what's wrong with it now. 6: You can't honestly be using bad timing as a problem with races. They try to make the entire world happy and people still complain. What are they gonna have to do, have races run 24/7? |

The item is yours when it is in your bag.

" They didn't make a mistake with loot rules. FFA loot is what this game is about. The fact they have your name on it, give you an ADVANTAGE over everyone else, to get to it first. IF you don't get to it in time, don't blame the guy who did, or the game. That's the way it is. Also, about being able to create games with different loot rules will further divide the player base. And, if everyone get's their own loots, that would inflate the quantity of items significantly, think what would that do to the economy? Last edited by Busta_SMurk#5675 on Mar 2, 2013, 3:18:29 PM

" A way to get around that would be to lower the drop rates, but then there's even more complaints. |

" What you don't seem to get is that GGG is trying to cater to a niche within a niche. Hardcore gamers* within the RPG genre, that is. So yes, the market is relatively** small. Gamers>RPG fans>Hardcore gamers*. I fail to see why this upsets you so much so that you feel like you have to put yourself above someone who is arguing a logical opinion, instead of calmly presenting your arguments and leave it at that. Cheers! *By "hardcore" I am not referring to the Kripparrian(and the likes) level of hardcore, but somewhere between him(them) and "regular"(not casual) gamers. **I say relatively because the audience that was interested in Diablo3 on their launch(not beta) was absolutely huge and PoE will never come anywhere close, ever, for several reasons(non-negative, imo). Even though they both, supposedly(partly), were inspired by Diablo2 and share the genre. P.S. I suspect that most of the Diablo2 fanbase(from when it peaked) have left RPG's and/or gaming(except maybe as a part time hobby) by now and I don't really believe that PoE will be populated by any large portion of them(us). Just above casual gamers in general~. Again, like Alexdaemon said, you don't play Diablo3 for any extended time(8months+) if you're more into hardcore games just as little as you play PoE for more than a week or two if you're clueless when it comes to more advanced RPG's. the playerbase is very limited to english only gamers.
most german players don't even touch english-only games. it's even worse in france etc. i don't even start with asia... keeping that in mind the playerbase is huge compared to the other game/other games. |

" Do you seriously think that they, after the OB release, ran into a toilet and are now waiting for everything to fix itself? Creating a long lasting game takes time. Especially for a smaller company. Even D3(Blizzard) took a considerable amount of years to make and they still failed to cater to the general Diablo fanbase(if that ever was their goal). PoE is looking really good so far and every patch is moving the game in the direction they were talking about all along. What else could you ask? It's enjoyable to play the BETA for way longer than it should be and isn't that something positive? Instead you seem to get stuck on the fact that the game isn't complete yet, who is that going to help? I at least believe that GGG is doing everything they can to get the game ready as soon as possible while still delivering on their promises with the game. I don't see how anyone can complain unless they were expecting something completely different from what GGG said they wanted to do with the game. Am I wrong? Cheers! As to advertising, was that a joke? ... IGN: Standard: @MeowViking Perandus: @VikingVortex Last edited by HandsomeBear#0063 on Mar 2, 2013, 3:39:06 PM
