POE sure seems to be losing a lot of steam

Almost every merciless build I've ever seen has 3/4 of their passives invested in defensive stats. That hurts build diversity

Nope more like whoring or selling out for money= fail. As for jaded frankly nothing i wrote would indicate that but hey you see what you want to see. Good night dude.

Right, I want to see a random guy become depressed and defensive.

You said "there is a price for that money" how else is that supposed to be interpreted?

Clearly I am incorrect. If GGG makes money they will pay a price? or do you mean like a Tax?

I do not know there tax laws where they are based.

Deadrook you are still a novice in this world, learn to think before you speak or you will continue to embarrass yourself.

There is only superficiality and a quickened downfall to find where monetary earnings from a large target area are put before creating a specialized product that is of the highest quality of its kind for those people who seek this type of thing.

You want to go to a general store with random quality goods your whole life? Ikea i'm sure is over there, or you can go to some other general store, but i prefer to deal with those who make a quality product focused around the product and not the size of the market. Meanwhile you are in your store of low-priced items that compromise quality to sell to more, others are cream'ing the specialized goods, while the masses haul from shop centres.

You may learn one day how blind your comments are and how little good it will bring GGG to attract all the Blizzard Fanboys, and players of other corrupted companies who deal in these exact same ways of quality death.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

I can only speak for myself. I have lost hardcore characters to desync like everybody else and making yet another character and redoing the grind is just that: a grind. But that is the nature of arpgs right? So taking a break solves that. The desync, however, is a very real problem but even so other things irk me more like...

1) The looting system. I have started to avoid partying with people after getting sick of getting all my drops ninja-ed. And POE is a bit more boring solo compared to grouping up. (Hopefully this will be remedied with the fact that some friends are just trying the game for the first time now.)

2) Lackluster prizes for the race season. This is really the main reason I haven't played in so long. After my last high level character death I was waiting to re roll for the start of the season until I saw the boring prizes. MORE grinding for cosmetic items and no currency? Meh. Have not played since the race season/prizes were announced.

3) Melee is still at a huge disadvantage. I want to play my Marauder at the highest difficulty without feeling like I am ridiculously handicapped.

I really want this game to succeed. Hoping things change for the better.

EDIT: I feel I exaggerated how POE feels solo. I don't think it's boring, just not as entertaining solo compared to a group.

people need to race, it's super cool and you get an alt character out of it. more race advertising?

This will only happen with better incentives to participate in races. The current prizes are not good incentives.

The races were so much more entertaining during closed beta.

I don't think PoE losing steam is a bad thing. They are catering to a hardcore playerbase that will keep their game alive for a long time.

Catering to hardcore base can't support a game...bigger studios tried it and all failed....
Hardcore only game in f2p model is financially suicidal (judging from the history)
And history has a strange way to repeat itself when you ignore it
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

Now that depends on alot of variables whether the game fails or not.

Variables-
What is being offered in micro transactions.
Does the transactions support both new and old players?
Will people be inclined to continue to buy them?
How big is the hardcore base?
Is the hardcore base willing to support the game, or just interested in playing a decent free game?
How much is the community willing to support financially?
How long are you expecting the game to survive?
How successful do you expect the game to be?
What kind of ratios for success:survival do you expect?

There are alot more to use, but thats just a general list of variables. Some of them can EASILY change the games 'predicted failure' into 'moderate success' with a smaller audience.

You are going dropoff after release just from the shear fact that lots of people tried it cause it was the shiny new thing. Now it isn't. The only way to tell true health is long term.

the new shiny toy is Crysis, and soon to be GoW/Tomb Raider.

Beat Tomb Raider earlier today.

Old Irish man dies.
Old man Lara looks up to dies.
Nerdy guy on the computer blows himself up on the ship.
Nerdy old man betrays the team and dies to the ancient jap warriors.
Laras freind almost becomes the sun queen.
Game is basically Uncharted series now.

Come at me bro
@ToNotBeDetermined
It's my fault.
I admit I bought the fallout collection on steam so I didn't play POE lately.
Sorry :'(

I promise I will be back though. As soon as I find this water chip...

The game encourages you to only play one build or suffer from desync/lag/town portal deaths on hardcore.

Or a huge 15% exp penalty death on softcore.

Tonnes of people have quit because the only viable builds revolve around NOT dying.

Glass cannon is NOT an option.

I see this as the biggest problem. I still play POE and am loving it, but the majority of complaints fall right in what this guy said. It also doesn't help that GGG has pretty much responded to the dysnc issue with complete disregard and referred to it as 'not' being a major issue on their plate (Which honestly left me speechless).
And here it comes. The f***ing doom n´ gloom.
