Look, I am a bad HC player myself. My highest HC char is lvl 46, and I feel like I am at my limit HC-wise: I can't progress safely enough with him.
So... I just stopped playing him for now (I reroll a lot).
But never did I feel like I had to alt-F4 or TP-town to refill flasks. I would rather completely escape or just die than "cheating" the game (in this wsy at least).

Besides, what's wrong with default league ? Hell ! Why would any casual like me play HC if he only wants a powerfull char ? I play HC to be a miserable creature launched in a merciless environment with a stick.
But I will definitely play softcore eventually, because I like reckless chars too !

PS: don't tell me you didn't felt helpless in D2 when you tiptoed your way through act 3 just to be spotted by 14 Dark Souls. RIP.
Or when you get Iron Maiden'ed mid Whirlwind. RIP.
Or get PK'ed by a desynch'ed paladin. RIP.

You play HC to be miserable and be at the mercy of the game. You start the game dead, just like in real life. But until your time has come, you just live. Whether you enjoy yourself or not is up to you. But since it's a videogame, you should be enjoying yourself. Or just play another mode. Softcore is really good.

Sorry, these 'mods do nothing' comments from people really sting. I wanted to play today, but you know, four hours after sitting at the computer I realised I'd done nothing but moderate the forum and answer mod-related PMs.

So what precisely do you want us to do on top of what we already do that will convince we aren't doing nothing?

I think the mods do a good job.

I really don't see why you had to make this post.

You had 2 weeks of game time - and its beta.

I am addicted as hell so far, and more content is gonna be added weekly starting on Wednesday/Thursday.

I see people put on probation for just about anything, then I see people speaking totally stupid. At least have some consistency. Half of the responses on the forum are negative or berating the person who posted and its usually the same people doing it over and over again.

Though I will say this is the first thread I've seen with actual quick response to people trashing the OP for simply stating his opinion. And I have no problem with people speaking their minds. Agree or disagree you don't have to be dicks about it. If people can't post constructively they shouldn't post or be allowed to. And seeing this community turn into another LoL type community isn't what I wanna see.

Aw...why did it have to move here...Thats going to make finding the Dev post about trade changes and no AH harder to find. Makes my work even harder when providing info for people....but still worth it I guess.

It Was a really nice read. Although i would disagree with having an in game AH. Actually i enjoy being on my own with item search. And if u ever come to the point were u cannot progress, there is always a choice to join public parties. And i think that is what is making me stop playing for few dayz. I recently got a bit disappointed (with me or game, OP could describe it better i guess.) after participating in races and dying to rhoas in mudflats coz of desinc, or my over confidence with my character and running into archers with CC increase. After that i went and killed my summoner, just acting silly and running around with QSilver coz i was a bit bored. And althou i was making like 10th character in the last few weeks, and that is becoming a bit repetitive, i feel like the opportunity to just join any public party were i can just run around and progress to merciless at the very least, is taking a lot of challange out of the playtime. Now i think if there was AH and public parties, everybody would be doing Baal runs 1hour after creating a new char, and that would be done for another two hours.

Anyways, tried to make sense dont know how much i succeed in doing that.
In general i feel that playing any game too much will result in u loosing interest faster then u should, and will result in killing ur HC chars. Taking a break for a few days, doing the SMASh challenge tomorrow.

OP, you can play on softcore, I started with hardcore now I play mostly on softcore. My brain could just not accept deleting/abadoning a well worked on 61 character lol.

I do agree though that currently the trade methods are horrible and along with the loooting system in parties is my only real gripes with PoE. Do remember though that sorting the trading system is something that could easily be improved once GGG have sorted out more pressing issues. It's p to you but I would not give up if you have enjoyed most of your experiences with the game.

->PoE does well in this regard. You are rewarded for everything that you do. Even a lvl 1 character can find an orb valued by a lvl 90.

Not at all. You can spend your orbs from 100's of hours of farming and gain NOTHING from it.

TL;DR I died in HC and I want to quit the game now.
