Multi-Boxing. Finally. The facts.

"Multiboxing. Finally. the facts". -----> (biased argument i think is what you mean to say.)

Hey brah, do u really think people are doing this for the increased difficulty? Do you really think that argument is even remotely believable/plausible? Give me a break. If the drops didn't increase from party member numbers, no one would do this.

Only thing that really concerns me is if the multiboxing is inflating the server load. Other then that I could care less.

Multibox. Finally. The Facts.....presented in a way that supports my side of the argument and ignores the other side. Hilarious.

I guess it's worth commending your presentation of blatant and transparent bias. Most people try to hide it.

okay after dissing multiboxing yesterday and I decided to try it out last night so I can have first hand experience.

downloaded some program called "ISBoxer" and followed a guide some guy created specifically for POE. Took me about 15 minutes to setup and an hour later I was farming ledge with 5 fresh characters.

after about an hour of farming I found like 10 alchs 4 chaos and some pretty bad unique gloves and a crapload of rares. Never before have I had that kind of farm even after leveling 3 characters to lvl 60+

the controls were kind of confusing at first but the trick is to use all range characters and shift click to attack and it becomes easy mode. When you change zones you need to make sure your characters stack up first before you click.

No wonder the guys multiboxing on a regular basis are defending it so much..wow amazing farm and easy to control...

forgot to mention if anyone is interested in trying this send me a PM and ill link you to the guide
There we go .... we're converting people who argued for 40 pages to finally TRY multi-boxing. :)

We need EVERYONE to start multiboxing. GGG won't change shit unless they think their game will go to hell if they don't fix it. So, if you want multiboxing to be "fixed", you need to start multiboxing like mad so that GGG is forced to react.

This message was delivered by GGG defence force.
if you were talking about my post it basically confirmed everything we were "arguing" about for 40 pages

-unbelievable farm after 1 hour

-very easy to control once you get used to a few things (shift clicking to attack, used ranged chars, ect)

-easy to setup but probably would only work for people with higher end PC's

it honestly felt like cheating

I dont think I'm going to multibox, but I agree...the only way to show them the error of their ways is to push the error harder than they think possible.

If we reverse the number of the population who multibox from ~10% to ~90%, I think they will get the message.

I'll agree, farming is alot better. Not 100 times...hell not even 5 times, but its about 50-75% more/better loot than a normal run.

If you think its easy, then you must be Goro and have 4 arms. I cant do this multiboxing on this game for shit since the other accounts dont follow you like they should. They all have different move speeds, and I consistently need to walk them into walls to keep them together.

And setup was a breeze...I'll admit that.

But if it felt like cheating, then cheat away, Nancy. Its not like they can ban you for it. Not yet at least.

I don't see any problem with multiboxing, defined as actually playing the character in each instance of the game. That would be extremely hard.

What is being called multilogging, ie porting tagalongs to a boss just for extra loot - that's exploitative and a problem.

Replicators - that's automation and also a problem. I don't buy the carbon-paper argument or the driver software argument. You've made 1 input, and gotten 6 commands out of it. 5 of them are automated.

How to detect and put a stop to it? I have no idea.

Buy it or not, thats how its viewed. Replication is not automation and the Devs agree to this. You call it whatever you like, but it is not cheating, it is not automated and it is not against the Tos/ToU

A script who does something for you is always an automation; by definition.
If a script replicates an action of you, these actions are automated - you didnt done it by yourself, an artificial device did it for you.

Whether this is true or false, its finally the call of the devs what they tolerate, what they prohibit and how they act.

I see no problems for the devs to call multikey-scripts as against the ToS/ToU if they decide to do so (3.party programs ... hell they could even define the remote-dummys as bots and ban them if they want).

The walk on the line i sense here, is the balance between keeping it as player friendly as possible (many options to play the game as possible - keep multiboxing) and keeping loot/economy adequate for all the different playstyle.

I see myself as casual player and a total noob around here (lvl 55). If i need a 5-dummys account farming setup to be able to buy average gear for my build, i might lose the fun for this game.

But as i watched the spirit of the devs and the community of this game, im sure they can come up with some new challenges to even the droprates:
-loot penalty if you die/not there on kill
-random trap drops from bosses / ceiling collaps from a boss battlecry
-flickering boss minions
-solo boss instance, super hard but loot promissing
-lvl requirement for instance looting (5-10 lvl under moblvl??)

... anyone else have some challenging ideas to even the 5-dummys advantage?

I suppose that script that replicates your hand movements for the mouse is considered automation as well, and should be a bannable offence too.
