This is wreaclast. No place for naive youngling. Poe players thrive by stabbing each other and using each other. Poe are not disney mmo after all, poe player bask and thrive in hate and schadenfreude. Poe simulate reality far better than disney anyway. I am pretty happy with current poe, in ssf.

Which leads back to my original question about hypocrisy and double standards.

No such thing. Poe teach with experience. New player learn from experience. If they are scammed because of naivety, they will learned faster that trusting people is a bad thing in mmos. They will required to learn that, to go far in poe, they need a better judgement or become a better scammer. If they can do both, they are good player. Experience is a good teacher. GGG should only take action for those that abuse bugs and exploits and leave player interaction alone.

So you agree that allowing unethical behaviour when it comes to "scamming" or "stealing" and yet banning people due to PC for a wild variety of words used during "player interaction" is a clear display of double standards?

I'm guessing it's the same as everyone, you included; you take something that isn't yours to take. If you agree to trade 100c for 1ex and only give 10c...

I didnt recall asking you. I asked OP.

Edit: If the guy that accepts my offer of 10 chaos that i put in the trade window instead of 100 chaos for his 1 exalt then hes an idiot but its his choice to press accept. You cant press accept without checking what you buying then call it a scam. Its his obligation to actually check that there are 100c in the box and not 10. He made his decision accepting my 10c for his 1 exalt and thus its no scam. The trade is completed and the guy selling his 1 exalt should have paid more attention to the trade in the first place.

You and so many other people on this forum dont actually know what a scam is in path of exile. There is no such thing as scamming in path of exile.
Still sane exile?

Well, yes. They should also just left interaction alone. No need to censor anything really. Kids will need grow up and learn too. They need to leave chat alone. Censoring chat in poe is kinda well, "unwise" part.

Yeah, I am a little bit biased here because I've got experience but it just rubs wrong when in PoE you have to be a little lamb.

I've had some quite good genuine fun moments ruined by GGG mutes because of false reading by the staff or just overall censors.

I remember I even had a moment where I was giving away 500 EX to people a few weeks ago and played fun games on global chat which eventually lead me to mutes.
Fortunately I didn't go full emo and gave the ex away one by one to players in towns.

I am not saying that I'm mad that I have to restrict my language and the way I speak at all times, rather just disappointed knowing that I can't have as much fun. There are a lot of small things that make this game great, I felt for a long time that being able to express myself freely was one of them. I don't insult people intentionally to make them feel bad.

Sure, whatever.
Going outside is highly overrated
-Anorak's Almanac. Chapter 17, Verse 32
A guild stash serves a single clearly defined purpose. If you chose to believe differently, that's on you. It gives access to items to people in the guild. Nothing else. You put something in the guild stash... it isn't yours anymore.

You think your analogies are sound. They're not. Letting someone come in your house isn't saying to that person they can take everything. I'd never leave my bike parked outside... even locked up. My bike is worth more than most of your cars. Felt Z2 baby!

I do agree that there is scamming in PoE. But taking stuff that's freely offered to you isn't scamming or stealing.

Definition of scam:

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/scam

https://www.thefreedictionary.com/scam

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/scam

https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/scam

http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/scam.html (this one describes it best)

When you make a trade and try to take advantage over the other person, by trying to fool them in any way, you're scamming them. Simple.

It's pretty clear to everybody that it's YOU that don't have a clue about what a scam is. and the way you're pretty much blamming the person scammed for being an "idiot" says a lot about you.

that doesnt mean it's not a scam.

in fact it means it IS.

since a point of a scam is to abuse stupidity/laziness of others to fool them out of their money.

just becase you're a moron if you fall for it, doesnt mean it's not a scam.
