It's so BORING to do storyline all over again
My question is: I never understood WHAT FUN is in doing same quests over and over again? I though everybody did enough of this beginning from vanilla WoW and tons other games. This is not what I want from the game, yes it may be (!) interesting to do storyline once, and even at the second time it will be far less interesting, not to mention doing it 10 or 100 times. What is so funny or important in this? Doing same story quests on three difficulties was boring. Doing 10 acts is boring either. Doing same story quests for new char is boring, no way this needs to be mandatory in modern 2017-2018 game. There is no anything hardcore in this either. Bad design has nothing to do with hardcore.
Strange thing, because even when I was starting, my friend told me: "mate, just do this boring thing, real game starts from Atlas". And, indeed. I am fully working guy and I have several hrs before sleep to play some games, and when I want to play PoE now I just realize that I need to spent all week or even two weeks evenings just to get access to what I really want from the game and to do what I really enjoy. Do I need to explain why Atlas idea and design and gameplay is supreme and much better than story quests? Atlas has freedom or some illusion of freedom if you call it. It is so good because player feels freedom, you can roll some mods, you can do certain maps, you can trade them, you can change them, now, in Abyss, its even more interesting and exceptionally good with new monster density. Atlas gives variety and feeling of freedom. I dont care about streamers that go to maps for like 6 hrs, we are not talking about them right now. I know many ppl hate D3 here, but there are some reasons why they did those decisions. I would so glad if PoE demanded to do storyline once per league or once per two leagues. So developers will design Atlas beginning from 1 (first) level, skill points will be rewards for beating certain map bosses. So if you already done storyline mode and start new character you have two options: storyline mode, and Atlas mode. I have so many builds in my mind that I want to try, but thinking about that I need to do storyline mode once again, to do all skillpoint quests, makes me sad and I ending up not playing at all. dead game bring back 3.13 Last bumped on Jun 1, 2018, 4:36:07 AM

It's not mandatory. You can play other games.

" Dumb suggestion. As for the OP. I strongly agree on the issue. Even if it was once per different character (like one of each class has to go through story) per league it would still be better 100x times now than it is right now. But hell, I'd rather start maps from level 1 already considering I played so many times through campaign it's just painfully boring to grind through. Unless there's grrilion upvotes on a reddit thread about it, devs will not even consider it. I've been hesitant to buy new supporter packs because I don't feel like playing this game as much anymore. I could endure the acts before so I could experiment with new builds and characters - that's where the fun is for me. But at some point it just became too tedious to even attempt and I find a cookie cutter build and go with that until I get bored of game. Now I spend more time theorycrafting in PoB than playing the game. Until I can skip acts straight in to mapping with level 1 char, I don't think I'll be that creative with builds in the game which gives less initiative for me to buy packs due to less amount of time being spent in the game playing. |

D3 got it right with adventure mode imo.

I've mentioned this a million times.
Having been around since Open Beta and usually leveling ~10 chars each League, this is extremely annoying. I've reached a point where if I had to choose, I'd rather do the old 3x routine as you could skip the 2nd half of the last act in Merci, anyway. We need alternate leveling like fish need water. " Aye that was one thing D3 managed to do alright. I don't understand what's the point of forcing players through acts they've played 200 times before. "Oh but you can test out how fast you level and rush! Improve your rushing skills!" No. Fuck you. Make it optional. I am not happy. |

Yeah it's better to do the same shaped vault map dozens of times per day.
Oh wait |

" More fun than running back and forth through same act-maps I did ton of times before just to get these extra skillpoints behind tedious quests and doing fetch-quests just to progress. I had enough of that shit in other mmos. I don't need more of the same shit here. |

Omfg, I'm so tired of repeating the same thing over and over again!
Does same thing over and over again for 30 hours. aRPGs are literally about doing same thing over and over again. Why people have such a big problem with leveling up while there is a story in the background, yet they have no problem doing the same fucking thing while there is no story. You don't have to read those story elements again. Just run forward and kill shit, the thing you like to do, no? This has to be the pinnacle of 1st world problems of PoE, really. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

" "My opinion is better than yours." Maybe it's alright with you, that's fine. Don't force others to go through things they don't enjoy just because you like it. Make it optional. Last edited by resetmaxing#7000 on Dec 19, 2017, 7:51:48 AM
