I am quitting this game because of kitava

There's only 3 dangerous things in that fight; the fire carpet, the lockon explosion of doom and the casters he summons to protect his heart. Dying to any of these things can be avoided by paying the slightest bit of attention to your surroundings. If you just want to mindlessly charge into fights without a clue what you're doing, along with obviously lacking any sort of skill, then ARPGs are not for you.
Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.

People die to the adds more then him no joke on that lol

They either die to adds or the rune slam attack
Dys an sohm
Rohs an kyn
Sahl djahs afah
Mah morn narr

I died multiple times to him on 4 different chars. He's by far the hardest boss I've encountered in this game. With all the other bosses you can form a strategy after a few fights with them, but the Kitava fight is so hard to read. All other bosses were a joke by comparison.

I guess they really wanted to emphasize Kitava's power- mission accomplished I say.

I'm Left of Right and far Right of Left.

Act 10 Kitava is the final boss (gear check) before the end game content, do you expect it to be that easy? It is like the final exam before the graduation for college, do you expect it to be as easy as your first exam in high school? I am just new to the game (just started last month), but I prepared my character well before fighting Kitave, because I expecting that it will be difficult since it will be the final boss of the campaign. Fortunately, I killed him on my first try without dying.

I think the problem is (was) that for roughly a year, when we made a new char, nearly everyone played only through A3 Merc. From there you either hop right into maps, or get the skill point and then hop into maps. Sometimes even sooner than completely A3. I don't know anyone that killed merc Malachai before maps unless:

A.) it was their first playthrough
B.) they were bored
C.) prophecy

So to have a "final boss" before maps is foreign and, for lack of a better word, annoying the older players.
Who's kativa? I didnt even notice. Really only hard boss in this game is Uber atziri, guardians and shpaer (aka Big 6) all rest are like meh even with added HP
Git R Dun!

Haven't played PoE in a year, came back to check out all the new features. All I wanted to do was experience mapping again but nooo, it's locked behind kitava for some reason. Got one shot by the adds on the last heart phase

Completely turned me off from the game.

The boss fight is very well telegraphed, there isn't a single mechanic in the fact you can't see coming so really the fault lies within you or your build, which is really just an extension of the fault laying on you. You clearly just weren't prepared for the fight and don't seem all the interested in preparing for the fight.

Never had an issue with the Ads myself, and the rune slam you can see coming from a mile off, it's really no different to any of the other "slam attacks" in the game.

This is the game of one-shots.

Maybe try on normal first, instead of trying to look tough and die in hardcore?

Kitava doesn't even one shot you unless you have some sort of glass cannon build going, in which case you're just asking to get one shot...
