Well, what the fuck is the point of Standard, that you were able to continue playing for 800 bazillion hours and achieved what anyone with a keyboard and a mouse could achieve given enough time? Does that make you feel good? If so, halleluiah, knock yourself out. If that's now what you like, then you maybe should go find a game that gives you what you like, because this ain't it.
Leagues are a great way to keep the game experience fresh with a new economy, new challenges, and new builds. This is the model that Path of Exile has adopted. If you want a different model, you should consider Grim Dawn, D3 or maybe Hello Kitty Online. Man does not stop playing because he grows old. It's like complaining that Civ 5 doesn't have a campaign, or that Overwatch doesn't have a single-player campaign. Rerolling is the core of the game. They really couldn't railroad things any harder. Standard is the niche option; of course it's barely supported.

The only problem with standard is that GGG is too lazy, cheap or incompetent to update it properly when new content releases.
So when anything new happens, rather than doing a solid by players who are still playing standard and buying MTX's, they give us ghetto half-baked implementations like: -Removing shit from std/changing it in advance of something that will happen in leagues later. -Poorly updating our characters in reaction to new content, so we have broken work arounds like having to complete trivial quests to regain lost skill points so we can get back to fucking maps which is the only thing we're still doing anyways. -Making all this big stupid hoopla about their latest expansion then making it so std players can't even fucking experience half of it, because figuring out a good solution to do that is beyond GGG when it's so much easier to just go "DERRR WE DIDN'T CODE ANYTHING FOR STD CHARACTERS, JUST START A LEAGUE CHARACTER BRAH CMON ITS WHERE THE COOL KIDS PLAY." I like PoE, but not so much I'm going restart it every three months. At least with my standard character I feel some level of personal continuity with the game. Doing leagues really shows how essentially trivial your character is, it's the gear that matters. And all that matters to GGG is whether you're participating in leagues and adding to the hype. I honestly wouldn't care what anyone else did in PoE....it's just the fact GGG rolls out these imperfect, lazy solutions to getting std players updated with the newest changes in the game. If it wasn't such a fucking hack job by them every time something updates, I'd happily not care about the inequality between standard and everyone else. If you care about your game GGG, and how it's perceived, then act like it and code like it. Because we get these self-fulling prophecies where std expects to get shit on, and then you shit on them. Because it's apparently more cost effective for you to just make a new league and some uniques than it is to back and clean up the fucking mess of code you've let pile up in std because _you're too goddamn lazy and cheap to make scaleable solutions to content_. Oh well. At least STD still isn't as fucked as HC. "We're pilgrims in an unholy land."

Yeah. I remember when PoE started there were just leagues, no standard. MAN THOSE WERE THE DAYS.

" That's exactly what I think. I would have buyed a supporter pack last league (because it was a very goood league) BUT I didn't because they completely fucked standard (zana mods). This time I was soooo hyped just to became assraped again as a standard player so again I can not buy a supporter pack without making fun of myself. In fact this time they fucked us standard players so hard that I did not even play a single hour since 3.0. I'm not sure that I will ever login again in this game that I once loved.
