Is there any gain for GGG in putting out shit balance patches?
They want to keep the game interesting and engaging. Obviously I don't know what lead to the decision to make such radical changes since I don't work for GGG, but I'm sure they have their reasons.
What I know though, is that 99% of the people who complain have zero understanding of consumer psychology and what makes a game fun. That being said, I'm not sure if the changes to energy shield will yield the results GGG is hoping for. But since there will be a beta test, they can still adjust based on the data and feedback they get during beta. A beta is the perfect time to make radical changes. |

" You are clueless. ES needs to be dumbstered in all possible ways since it was waaaaaay to easy to gear up. With minimum investment into damage nodes, spending max points into effective health pool, in this case ES, players can do all endgame content without spending single exalt on gear just by facetanking everything. It's not how this game was supposed to be. This game back to pre-1.3 was punishing you for any attempt to facetank endgame bosses either by putting you into "oh s...." logout situation or just killing you. The gain is money.
By continuously nerfing player defense such as block, max resist, life, ES, leech they are ensuring fewer players ever get high levels so they will get grind longer and buy more MTX. They are fine with giving players dps because it just makes it easier for them to die in reflect though lately they have made aoe skills worthless for clearing. This game is no longer about balance, it is just about keeping the vast majority of the player base in poverty while allowing the top 2% to strive. My guess is that they prefer to go too far with everything and then scale it back after being sure everything is at the very least too badly hit as a baseline.

I really like this one: ^^ " First he amuses I talk about "this patch" and this patch only aaaand that it is about the ES change in this patch especially :D Then he goes on to tell us, that the game was so much better in 1.3 because everything was actually difficult. And the ES nerf is really needed because obvious today's game is bad. Now the genius move is to connect the good past to the bad today, and make every patch in between be a good balanced patch! I love it! :DDD On a more serious note: I don't get the hole "magic the gathering" nerf old stuff, buff new stuff bullshit. They wouldn't loose one customer if they had a good balanced game with good balanced old skills/tree + minuscule better new stuff. Instead we have ridiculous bad old stuff, even more ridiculous overpowered new stuff. And instead of making the swing smaller with every patch I think they are actually gaining momentum each swing is bigger then the last. And on a less serious side note: Maybe they should male a janitor league and, just for one league, put the janitor in charge of balance.
