This is the end result of BernieGate. The Dems had a chance at their own Trumpish candidate, but they instead went full corruption. Never go full corruption. The Dems and their mainstream media are now all-in on authoritarianism, and that's a losing strategy.

At this point I feel one of two things is inevitable:
1. Opposition will form from within the Democratic Party, overthrowing the Democratic establishment in the form of their 2024 candidate, maybe 2020 if they're absurdly lucky. (The Justice Democrats plan this, although they need to get real about voter fraud in primaries.)
2. The sane will lead an exodus of reasonable people from the Democratic Party, leading to Republican dominance and the eventual death of the Democratic Party. In the resulting power vacuum, a new second party, left of GOP but right of old Dems, will splinter off of the Trump wing of the Party, perhaps both under the umbrella of the GOP at first. This'll probably happen in 2032 if the 2024 plan fails.
