" Here's the deal, troll. His intent is the correct one. Any build can be viable, but they are terrible compared to life builds. You seem to have this misconception that viable=good or even best. No, Mr. Troll. Lets look at your holy grail post: a guy playing a glass cannon. If you weren't such a sheep, you could read between the lines. Look at the words "having to play a different style" and "cautious." The word cautious immediately says, "less efficient." I can farm docks on my Cleave duelist; however I have to be "cautious" around void bringers because they can kill me with splitting. The fact I have to be cautious means I am slower because I have to tip toe around things other builds/specs can just plow. Sure that guy is making it work; no one said you cant make a build work. However, it is more then likely far less efficient, and therefore by definition in a game like this WORSE then the aforementioned HP builds. This is why melee suck. I play a DW cleave duelist. I can farm maps, any content, whatever. However, I am far less efficient then a ranged character. Therefore, melee is worse. You can say, "melee is worse then ranged" because it is true. Who cares that I am viable? Viable=good. By your definition, my duelist is good. No it is not. I like to play him, probably the same that people like to play glass cannons, like that guy you posted. However, we are both worse builds in the long run and that is the point. HP builds are king. Ranged are king. Another reason is penalties. That guy does not mention how many times he dies. As you gain levels, dying becomes very very harsh; even in SC. when you get into the high 70s/80s, one death can set you back an entire day. Hell, even maps have penalties; there are a very limited amount of portals. Dying costs portals. Again, the best builds will mitigate the penalties. Maybe if you had unlimited access to maps, or there wasn't a penalty for dying, glass cannon builds could match life builds. However they can't. Also, for as much as you like to pretend to know human beings, you sure don't have any clue on how these assumptions came to play do you? What is the number one issue most new players suffer from and screw their characters up over? Taking too many damage nodes. WHy do they do this? Because humans are inherently drawn to these types of offensive power nodes; for the same reason offensive players always get more attention then defensive ones. So since most players are drawn to these nodes first, they test these damage builds first. So what happens? Well their character sucks; so they put more points into HP to mitigate his suckage. They then realize that they actually got very little power from those offensive nodes. So they realize that putting even more into HP nodes and less into dps nodes (or any other nodes for that matter) is even better, and mitigates the penalties of dying even more. Not only that, they realize their efficiency has went way up since those other nodes are simply worse. So they and everyone else comes to the conclusion, through testing, that HP nodes are the best. Also, since these nodes are so boring, this is why people cry about getting them fixed. Do you really think people would cry that they had to skip hp nodes to get dps nodes? No! Those are the nodes they wanted in the first place. It is when they realize the best characters are bland, all hp node/highway nodes, and the other nodes are wastes of points that people complain about it on the forum. People didn't just sheep this stuff, like you and your clinging to other people's posts like that glass cannon witch without even knowing exactly how he makes it in the game. You have no clue how efficient he is; most of us do. We have played with/or played the very same types of builds ourselves; we know what "cautious" means; we know why HP builds are the best. We aren't sheep. You are the sheep, just clinging on to "success stories" when you dont even know if it is really a success; it is probably just viable. And viable, again, isnt always the best or good. Viable usually just means garbage. |

I have made a terrible mistake. Well done, Deceptionist.
I will now feast on my own bitterness. |

" Not a misconception. I agreed with Volcanic on that matter. What I don't agree is how you two focus on fixing the HP King and ES builds rather than looking for that threshold that does exist. There is always something people overlook. All I'm asking for people to do is to look for it while GGG is doing their job. I want people to take what they have accordingly and with great judgement. That's all I'm saying. People worry too much about the "fixes" to ask the "ifxes". I read between the lines and I'm well aware of it. I already agreed, but I'm pushing this up a notch to get people to be more open-minded even when the tides aren't on your side. There is always something there. Always. You might be surprised by this, but I enjoyed your psychological profiling of people in this case. So far people "THINK'' HP nodes are the best, but everytime there is something out there that isn't going to be found if people rest on "fix this" and "I think". You have to remember, just because a large number of people agree, doesn't mean that all of you aren't basing this on what you understand insofar as knowledge goes. For all you could know, there is something spectacular in that brilliant tree, and only the most rewarding person will discover it. Now do you understand my position, dave? " I'm sorry, but I disagree. This project is more than a game. It's a breath taking piece of art that is young and naive now, but waiting to flourish into something much greater. And by then, calling it a game would be a first class offence. It "can" be competitive, it can be "appealable in a gamer sense", but it surely isn't just a game. " I actually think you're a likeable presence. +1 You will never see a man faking anger, passion and relentless behavior. You will always see a man faking love, politeness and respectful behavior. " Communication always have a target of information carry. So why you´re try to carry the information you mentioned in the thread op. Also that you communicate and act accordingly are assumptions you made. What can never be lent or earned?
