Not sure I understand the argument in this thread.

POE is a niche game. It doesn't have mass appeal like Call of duty. The graph I see is what I would expect.

You know the whole discussion is "corrupted" when people start comparing PoE to LoL, DotA 2 and CS:GO, three games owned and maintained by pretty much the largest gaming companies in the world.

Comparing is fun!

These were my examples of healthy succesful games. If you have an example that is similar to PoE, then let me know.

For me, PoE is leaving its niche that you speak of and turning in to a generic boring game like Diablo 3, which is why its not as interesting to me anymore at least. And the changes we've seen so far to this expansion point towards another shit league like Perandus, Prophecy and Talisman.

PoE will ALWAYS be a niche game, as long as it's as noob friendly as an axe to the face. The learning curve is steep as hell, early game is boring and slow, and the need of knowledge not presented in-game is huge. Remove those obstacles, and PoE will grow.

I like how people react to a thread that exist here in different variations since this game launched,oh and like all these threads in every game forum ever.

http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1471915 here is an example of DotA 2 one (ROFL),this particular one also exists in many variations since dota as a whole exists.

These threads are like watching 2 street doomsayer retards arguing about how the world will end.

Should i get you some of these about League of legends?

Game dies when the servers shut down. Everything else is people that think their disagreements with a game means that the game is dead, and they will spend some free time to look for bullshit all over the internet so they will get attention...like a kid that cuts himself wanting mommy's attention.

Fun fact, everything have ups and downs, its your opinion on that "everything" deciding whether you will see it as a successful product or a dead product.

God damn WoW is still here after it lost 80% of its playerbase.

I would speculate that this graph is more representative of the fact that D3 is available in the mother-tongues of these countries, while POE caters to the most white and english speaking peoples.

PoE is available in Portuguese for the Brazilians, and Indians have no issues with English apart from having a funny pronunciation :) Might be a good explanation for some other Asian countries like China, Japan and the southeastern Asian countries though. English is a hurdle for them.
You have to be realistic about these things.

Someday one of these threads is going to be right. Better make one every month.

According to this chart, PoE declined a long long time ago. Yet...they hired a bunch of people, moved into a larger office, and put out larger expansions faster. I think that tells you all you need to know.

Yeah, I know they were. But we're still talking about high budget games, with millions in advertisement and tournament prizes from an other world - developed by HUGE companies. Why they even have to be mentioned here, is beyond me. GGG, an indie company from the far side of the world, developing their first game, and a niche one at that.

I expected to find at least a few fabricated graph shitposts in this thread. I have been sorely disappointed.

Come on guys, step up your game.

I would expect the game to grow because we've seen GGG's budget grow with big changes like the Labyrinth and act 4 but it seems like it hasn't helped that much. You're expectations are not logical. A game which is not primarily PVP driven and has had the same fundamental gameplay mechanics forever can not simply just have more people be attracted it to it "all of a sudden". Just because a budget grows does not mean its player base grows. There is no correlation whatsoever.

Where have you seen this type of growth? Is there a game that grows over time when the fundamental gameplay hasn't changed?

Check out World of Warcraft! They even have PvP and release expansions just like PoE attempts to do. Does the visible trending in this graph look familiar?

Spoiler

Simply put your expectations are unreasonable. Also if you think POE is leaving it's niche you are out of your mind. Most of the players that complain this game is too easy are EXPERIENCED PLAYERS WITH MANY HOURS OF GAMEPLAY. Of course the game feels easy and as if it's leaving it's niche...but it isn't. You have evolved and the feelings of "to easy" or "not challenged" come with that evolution.

Poe is unique, hard to say it will die as fast as a graphic from a league shows.

It is the same as telling that people will stop drinking coffee because there's a lot of water or because people that used to drink coffee are now drinking juice, then coffee will cease to exist.

No matter how pissed off you are with the game, that won't reflect the reality of all the players.

Just hope it grows more, so they can fix bugs faster and grow even more.
