Hillary Clinton

The takeaway for the powers-that-be needs to be this:

Stop insulting the intelligence of the citizens. 85% of the 'beltway' of D.C. - lobbyists, politicians, and insiders, think that the average American is a shitter who has no idea what is best for them - that D.C. knows better (best). They've taken the awesome responsibility and privilege of public service and turned it into entitled tyranny. No more. Do what your constituents want, or get blown the fuck out. Even if getting BTFO'd means the populace shooting themselves in the foot.

No longer will people accept different sets of rules for politicians and the citizens at large. Such a situation is nothing less than tyranny. The baby boomers got lazy. They got complacent. I'm not a huge fan of millenials, but I'll say this: they have exceptionally finely tuned BS detectors. Gone are the days of 80's-00's politics. Never again will we have two presidential candidates with secrets. Our candidates will be heavily flawed from this point forward (they always have been, but now their flaws will be laid bare). Elections from this point forward will be about listening to the people. Smells like democracy.

A few independent web sources where the veracity of information could be checked would be a very welcome thing. With all the scrutiny on the two candidates, it seems like there would be plenty of support for it. The question would be how to fund it without it becoming overly partisan.

Today is a dark day for America.

It should never be a function of government to implement such valuation themselves. Really, what you're talking about is something you've failed to do: appraise as much of the available information as possible, and form an independent conclusion... instead of having beloved talking heads spoon-feed it to you.

The purge of the mainstream media begins. It is indeed a dark day... for them.

The problem here is that the American public just proved without a doubt that those opinions are correct. People just voted overwhelmingly against their own self-interest while having absolutely no idea they were doing so (unless they were voting for Trump due to racism, misogyny, xenophobia, or similar, and are taking all the shit that comes with it on the chin just to hurt those they hate). You'll find out over the next four years how wrong you were.

Nah, just kidding. I know the Dunning-Kruger effect will keep you blind as it always does with the least educated and knowledgeable of us. Keep on believing that you know better than the people with more education than you and with massive amounts of experience in their field. It's not like I could stop you if I tried.

And with that, I'm out of these discussions for good. These results are depressing enough without interacting with the sorts of people who inflicted them upon us.
Fox News just declared Trump the winner!! [Removed by Support]

Democracy doesn't necessarily pick the best leader. Democracy can pick mediocre leaders. The best part of democracy is that it provide the option to correct your mistakes. I have no idea how trump would govern. Here is the chance for him to prove his worth. People can throw him out after four years if he is horrible.

Donald J Trump, God Emperor elect of the United States will go down in the annals of history as one of the worlds most epic leaders. Leaders are no longer going to be compared to "Insert generic leader here nobody cares about anymore", but to Donald J Trump. He's the epitome of leadership, valor, courage, and success! They should tear down the Statue of Liberty and replace it with a bronze of Donald Trump!
