If your definition of "acting like a total bitch" is creating a logical, well thought out argument and articulating it then yes I am guilty as charged.

Take a guess as to what your logical fallacy is?

Maybe the devs can say something about changes of the playercount since the OB started. Without official values you can discuss endless...

I´m sure that a lot of "testers" left the OB since it started, the important amount of players will be the old and new core-gamers, which supports the game, and who did it in the CB.

I don't get why so many people are so concerned about their games population. What does it matter if someone else plays or not? If YOU enjoy the game that's all that matters. Who cares about anyone else,

I could be the ONLY player in a game, if it makes me happy I'd keep playing.

If you want the game to stay static, sure. I want tons of new content, added reguarly. And only a huge playerbase can support that.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

Good luck having them keep your game open with just you supporting them. I hope you can afford to donate a ton of money.........

If that's true it's sad. D3 sold millions, so there is a vast audience for ARPGs. This game is better than D3, and should/coould have easily been massive. I know I'll get flamed but imo it's the lack of simple quality of life things like loot/respec optionss that will/are holding it back. If GGG want that small hardcore player base, fair enough, their call. Seems crazy to me to shoot much lower than you could.

This game is made for a niche group. Much like MMO's previously were made prior to Blizzard's other game. Blizzard has a specific market strategy, they make a game that can be picked up, played for an hour, and you feel awesome right off the bat. Due to this, a good amount of stuff is dumbed down. That's why you see girlfriend's playing WoW and getting into D3(no offense to any actual girl gamers out there).

To continue comparing it to EVE, PoE and EVE are for specific playerbases, that isn't a bad thing. CCP has made more of their weight in gold with EVE, and I'm sure GGG will do the same with PoE. Instead of a playerbase that continues to leave and come back, you have a sustained, loyal, small playerbase.

Seeing the number of people currently in the game and on this forum whining about the game having too much grind, being too gear and luck dependent, disliking how much they have to repeat and kill things and not being able to understand anything at all about the skill tree and begging for full respecs because they werent knowledgable enough to plan ahead, or realize that these kinds of games are all about trial and error if you are new, its absolutely no surprise that loads of newbs to this genre that have normally had their hands held through simplified easy RPGs wont like PoE and will leave because to them its a bad game.

By this logic, D3 would be thriving, but is ISN'T. It is false to state the ARPG fanbase want casual depth because D3 proves it's not true. D3 is a casual-friendly bad ARPG, this is a casual friend good ARPG. Neither wins. The first casual-friendly good ARPG is going to dominate all. PoE could easily be that with a few simple options.

I think if d3 was called somthing else it would of been better. But because it had Diablo attached to it we expected so much from it and were so let down it failed.

Now here comes PoE to save us all because it is what we all wanted to be in d3. A team of 18 people did so much better than a team of 500 people.

I have lost 5 mid range character (48-67) and I still continue to play, but I don't think end game merci play through is very balanced for all builds. You HAVE to stack HP/ES, max res ofc, and max armor to stay alive and not be killed very fast. That puts a limit on end game builds.

Not that I agree with him, but you should be careful before calling "fallacy!" on the internet.
Honestly it all really depends on how this "real" launch goes.

This game isn't dead, it is far far far far from being dead. However its population will decline, and will probably continue to do so until it levels out and never really goes up or down. Its what happens to most games really, outside of a few freak outliers like valve games.

It all depends on how much they can advertise the actual launch of this game. Most games that enter an open beta just simply stay that way, they never really release. If they can advertise their real release enough, there may be a sudden population gain and more steady players coming in. But if they don't, this open beta may forever be considered the "real" launch by most and the populations won't really fluctuate that much.

You do realize his entire argument was calling me a bitch, right? Isn't that enough for a forum probation? That link would have been slightly more relevant had he had anything to argue outside of throwing feces around like it was going out of style.

Am I the only one noticing that PoE lost a lot of its playerbase already? I hope I'm wrong, but the forums seem dead, the party numbers ingame aren't as many as it used to be a few days/weeks ago.

Some known streamers quit, some well known players quit. Even Kripp's latest videos didnt have as many viewers as the previous ones. A lot of my ingame friends didn't show up for at least a week.

Is my impression wrong?

Known streamers aka Kongor and Kungen. Both suck at this game and apparently don't like playing a game that is a challenge, thus Kungen leaving and Kongor ( like anybody cares about him anyways ) went back to D3.
