PoE already shrinking/dead?
When a popular streamer leaves so will some of his/her fanbase. Not a big loss imo. The less streamer fanboys the better. I'm not talking all people who watch them, just the serious fanboys who cant think for themselves and would jump off a bridge if the streamer said it was the best thing ever.
Kripps video views have nothing to do with how PoE is doing. He has a fanbase from D3, WoW, and PoE. There are any multitude of reasons he could be loosing views that have nothing to do with PoE. And lastly the game isnt for everyone. It actually requires some skill, some thinking, and an oldschool mentality to enjoy. So people will always be comming and going. There is a whole lot of people left in the gaming world who havent even heard of PoE yet that will try it out eventually. |

" LoL might merit that graph, but most niche f2p games get nowhere neasr that bounce-back. They flatten the Promised Land level and just sit their kinda sad, with little or no new content because the playerbase doesn't earn enough to make new stuff regularly. A small-to-medium base might keep the servers rolling and allow new gem art to be added now and again, but I'd prefer a huge playerbase enabling quality monthly content or similar. It's easy to say the game can do without casuals, but casual word-of-mouth is a big deal, and I feeel it's rather negative right now for Poe, just through reading various other forums. The reaction new players have gotten on the fourms just for asking for simple options to enhance their experience says it all, sadly. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress. Last edited by GhostlightX#1022 on Feb 16, 2013, 10:23:35 AM

" I don't get why so many people are so concerned about their games population. What does it matter if someone else plays or not? If YOU enjoy the game that's all that matters. Who cares about anyone else, I could be the ONLY player in a game, if it makes me happy I'd keep playing. |

Im playing less PoE because of my studies. But Im playing Dota2 and POE exclusively and that is unlikely to change. Especially since the devs said they are planning 11 acts.

" By this logic, D3 would be thriving, but is ISN'T. It is false to state the ARPG fanbase want casual depth because D3 proves it's not true. D3 is a casual-friendly bad ARPG, this is a casual-unfriendly good ARPG. Neither wins. The first casual-friendly good ARPG is going to dominate all. PoE could easily be that with a few simple options. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? " There is a vast audience for people who'll play through the game once on normal and then forget about it. Although TL2 and D3 have had huge sales they also had a very substantial loss in player numbers. |
